The Kennedys, an eight part miniseries beginning Sunday, April 3, on ReelzChannel, has been fraught with intrigue and dismay since it was announced last year. It was originally scheduled to air on the History Channel, which paid $30 million to make the sex, drugs and scandal-scented series.

ABC This Week’s Elites to Wisconsin Workers: “We Won, So Screw You All” |
| By: Scarecrow Sunday February 20, 2011 12:15 pm |
ABC’s This Week didn’t even make a pretense of being fair and balanced, let alone honest, in covering the historic labor protests in Wisconsin. The elite don’t want you to know that asking the working class to pay for the elite’s excesses is profoundly wrong.

Prop 19 Opponents Terrified by Centuries-Old Tradition of Local Ordinances |
| By: Jon Walker Monday September 27, 2010 7:15 pm |
I’ve noticed a consistent but baseless distortion being spread by opponents of California’s Proposition 19, which would legalize, regulate and tax cannabis. They complain that Prop 19 is poorly crafted and/or would produce an unenforceable “patchwork” of regulation. The reality is that, compared with most propositions in California’s history, Prop 19 is very sensibly written, with the express purpose of giving state and local governments maximum flexibility to make legal marijuana workable. The fictitious, nightmarish “patchwork” of regulations caused by allowing local governments to craft local ordinances is no different than how local governments handle almost everything in our economy, including alcohol, parking, pizza ovens, farmers markets and building codes.
Axelrod and McConnell Take ABC’s Amanpour and US Down the Rabbit Hole |
| By: Scarecrow Sunday September 26, 2010 12:30 pm |
After watching White House Adviser David Axelrod on ABC’s This Week, one can easily understand the lack of enthusiasm for an aimless Democratic Party that can’t even stand up and fight for what it’s supporters believe because it’s led from the top down by incompetent and corrupt corporatists.
$547 Million Can’t Paper Over Failure of Afghanistan War |
| By: Derrick Crowe Friday September 3, 2010 3:20 pm |
The Pentagon’s public relations machine is working overtime these days trying to sell a theme of “progress” in Afghanistan to push back against calls to end the war. The message machine behind this push is gargantuan, costing $547 million and employing more than 27,000 people. But, as our latest Rethink Afghanistan video shows, all that wasted P.R. money can’t paper over the fact that the Afghanistan War isn’t making us safer, and it’s not worth the cost.
Giving Wrong Answers: Sen. Corker on ABC’s This Week |
| By: Ruth Calvo Sunday August 15, 2010 4:00 pm |
It remains a mystery to me why the candidates who are able to tell the truth because they are doing the right thing aren’t able to capitalize on it. Telling the public that they are constantly given the lies of the right wing in order to get their votes against their own interests seems like something we really need to press home, over and over.

ABC’s Jake Tapper is reporting (h/t Spencer) that President Obama has accepted the resignation of Adm. Dennis Blair, Director of National Intelligence.
White House Allowed BP to Keep Video of Gushing Pipe from Public for Three Weeks |
| By: Michael Whitney Friday May 14, 2010 7:09 am |
The White House allowed BP to hide its video feed of a gushing oil pipe in the Gulf of Mexico from the public for three weeks, all the while that same video played live in the White House Situation Room, ABC reports.
This startling revelation comes just as Obama prepares to get really angry in public about the spill – just in time to cover up his administration’s collusion with BP to hide the true extent of the massive disaster in the Gulf.
Revisiting the al-Harithi/Derwish Assassination |
| By: emptywheel Sunday January 31, 2010 5:00 pm |
It would seem unnecessary to kill a guy for planning the Cole bombing if you knew you had the suspect who planned the Cole bombing in custody. But claiming a tie between him and the Cole bombing might provide the excuse to target a car carrying your real target: Derwish.
