KY-06: Ben Chandler Wins Re-Election

Kentucky’s 6th District was one of the closest House contests this year. The official re-canvasing left incumbent Democrat Ben Chandler with a 648-vote lead over his Republican opponent, Andy Barr. The re-canvasing resulted in the net gain of a single vote for Chandler

After seeing the result of the re-canvasing, Barr decided to concede.


Pew Poll Shows Democrats Down 10 on Generic Ballot; Incumbents Unpopular

The Democratic base is less engaged, the party is losing the generic ballot by 10 points, and voters have a strong urge to vote against incumbents. Taken together, this is bad news for incumbent Democrats hoping to maintain their seats–and retain control of the House.
