The arrest made in the bombing of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Wisconsin has led to federal charges against the suspect. He has a significant criminal record and a possible history of anti-abortion protests, according to local authorities. He may have participated in demonstrations against this particular Planned Parenthood office. His prior arrests are unrelated to any anti-abortion activity.

A homemade bomb struck a Planned Parenthood office in Grand Chute, Wisconsin, on Sunday night. According to a local news report, the perpetrator placed the bomb on a window sill, which started a small fire when it exploded. There are no reports of injuries, but the terrorist implications are profound.

The backlash to the war on women has been moving forward. This week, an Idaho bill that would have mandated ultrasounds for abortion seekers died in the legislature, a victory for women’s rights in one of the most conservative states in the nation.

But the backlash is also getting an assist from a district court in Oklahoma.

Sing it, share it, revel in it… this is a voice that can change the game.

By now it should come as no surprise that anti-choice activists are engaged in a targeted and specific legal strategy to roll-back abortion rights. After all, it has proven to be more successful to slowly and steadily chip away at access to abortion care via judicial opinion than through any attempts at outright bans in state legislatures.

But what might come as more of a surprise is the fact that a key part of that legal strategy involves attacking campaign finance law. In fact the pro-corporate personhood movement and the anti-woman, anti-choice movement share the same attorney: conservative campaign-finance crusader and abortion-rights foe James Bopp, Jr.

Aren’t Republicans all about the government staying out of our business? Oh wait, unless it’s our lady business, and then they can get all up in it.

The womb-controlling fixation continues. While the state Senate may kill this atrocity, njcronk at DKos points out, it’s just the latest in the unending effort by the uterine control police, a.k.a Teabagger legislators – 135 bills attacking reproductive freedom have passed nationwide.

The conservative hunger for authority over others is perfectly visible in their ongoing war on women. Consider the pending legislation in Arizona that would require women to get the permission of their employers before insurance policies would cover birth control pills prescribed for health reasons other than preventing pregnancy. Or consider the wave of so-called “sonogram” bills initiated by conservatives so fanatic they mandate non-medical, trans-vaginal violation of women seeking pregnancy terminations.

What really denotes freedom more than having a decision about your life made by someone else, especially your boss?
