You asked for more you got it: ABC News’ Kate Snow, Raelyn Johnson, Sunlen Miller, and Rick Klein Report: Former Sen. John Edwards is endorsing Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential candidacy Wednesday evening, in a dramatic attempt by the Obama campaign to answer concerns regarding Obama’s appeal to working-class voters, several senior Democratic sources tell ABC News.

Sunday Late Nite: Will John Edwards Endorse? |

Apparently our two remaining Democratic candidates for President value an endorsement from John Edwards, and maybe sooner rather than later. Senator Clinton made the first trip:
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton flew to North Carolina on Thursday to meet with former Sen. John Edwards, a Clinton official said Sunday, part of a lobbying campaign expected by both Democratic candidates.
It Takes A Democrat. |

It takes a Democrat: Tonight, we gather to affirm the greatness of our Nation — not because of the height of our skyscrapers, or the power of our military, or the size of our economy. Our pride is based on a very simple premise, summed up in a declaration made over two hundred years ago…
Big Media Fluffs McCain, Stuffed Edwards |

Finally, somebody else pointed out what I mentioned weeks ago: “… But the mainstream media, long determined to ignore Edwards and keep this a feisty, feuding two-person race, is not letting him show his stuff where it currently counts–against McCain.” Of course, now that Edwards is out it’s too late to do anything about it.
The Heart Of The Democratic Party |

And then there were two.
With John Edwards dropping out of the Democratic presidential race, we are losing a fierce and committed voice for change and for justice, and I, for one, feel that loss like an ache. One of the signature issues of his campaign — one that is near and dear to my own heart — was Edwards commitment to giving voice to those who have none in our money-driven political process. The Democratic party has long been the champion of the downtrodden and the folks in need, and we have sadly forgotten that obligation to the least of these our bretheren the last few years. John Edwards candidacy has been a daily reminder to pick up the charge of the better angels of our nature, and to speak up against those injustices that too often get shoved to the side for more monied and powerful interests….
The Polls You Won’t Hear Much About |

In the wake of Barack Obama’s non-win over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, the punditti have been making various wailing noises over how awful it is that they were so wrong and all that. But for all the hubbub over the New Hampshire pre-primary polls and how accurate or inaccurate they were, it’s rather interesting that some polls that may have more import have got comparatively minimal coverage.
Timmeh Smackdown? Sweeeeet! |
| By: Christy Hardin Smith Sunday January 13, 2008 8:55 am |
Having sat through the entirety of Meet The Press this morning, the sit down at the table attempt at gotcha from Tim Russert fell flat. And Sen. Hilary Clinton turned those tables back at him over and over again in a pivot and attack performance that left Russert looking sullen and deflated.
Clinton: “I listened . . . and found my own voice” |
| By: Scarecrow Wednesday January 9, 2008 5:00 am |
In her victory speech last night, Hillary Clinton probably nailed the underlying reason for her remarkable comeback in New Hampshire. In the last three days before the primary, she had changed her pattern, talked less and listened more. “I listened to you, and in the process, I found my own voice.”
Making Their Case For Them |

Last Saturday, in the comments section of my post, I invited FDL readers to make their case for who they thought should be president, and promised to post what I thought were the best responses.
Come Saturday Morning: Once More Into The Breach |

Some thoughts on the aftermath of the Iowa caucuses:
The Dems just kicked butt WRT turnout, something that’s not been common in Democratic primaries over the years. They outdrew the GOP by nearly two to one — in fact, all three Democratic front-runners, Obama, Edwards and Clinton, garnered more votes from their caucus-goers than Mike Huckabee, the GOP winner, got from his.
