Just Say Now is rolling out a huge Get Out The Vote effort that will contact tens of thousands of voters between now and Election Day. To pull it off, we need to raise $40,000 over the next week. Elections have consequences, we are always told. If Election Day 2008 doesn’t have more positive consequences for LGBT Americans by Election Day 2010, you can expect more passivity from us, Mr President. You will have earned it. See, elections do have consequences.

Director Spike Lee got a call from the Obama campaign help get out the vote in Miami Friday, and he heeded the call. Unlike Matt Damon who got out the vote in suburban West Palm Beach, Lee went straight into Liberty City, described by the Miami News’ blog Riptide as “Miami’s very own 24-hour war zone.”
