You might have missed the segment in last night’s GOP debate where CNN’s Wolf Blitzer asked carefully prepared questions about what America’s industrial policy ought to be. That’s because he didn’t — not that I’m criticizing Wolf, who did much better than the pathetic Brian Williams and hapless John King — but the candidates nevertheless indirectly gave us their own ugly visions.

Yeah, we can talk about how Newt went ballistic and blamed the media for asking about his wandering pee-pee and alleged open marriage request of wife #2, or how Rick Santorum finally located his #clownballs and pummeled Romney and Newt mercilessly in a desperate attempt to remain relevant, but it was Mittens, poor little Mittens, who stunk up the joint at the CNN Debate held in Charleston, SC Thursday night.

I don’t know what it will take for Herman Cain to realize that his ride in the 2012 GOP Clown Car is over, but I’m guessing that the numerous accusations from women that he sexually harassed/assaulted aren’t doing the trick. After a bold, insane statement like this, I’m sure of it (via TPM): “Herman Cain: For Every Person Who Says I Harassed Them, There Are ‘Thousands’ Who Say I Didn’t.”

We’ll be live streaming the Virgina Governor’s debate tonight starting at 7:30 ET. I’ll be co-hosting with Nico Pitney of the Huffington Post, David Grant of the Collegiate Times and Virginia blogger Ben Tribbett of Not Larry Sabato.
Things are getting quite heated after the latest poll shows McAuliffe with a commanding lead, though there’s an argument over whether the poll is an outlier or not (New Dominion Project says yes)
