Everyone I know who knows him tells me Washington Post commentator Chris Cillizza is a swell guy. I believe it. But it doesn't make him any more perceptive in a job that calls on basically one thing: perceptivity. Yesterday he posted his list of the 50 districts most likely to change hands on Tuesday.

Last weekend we spent some time with our Progressive Majority friends and allies from Ohio and met an exceptional state legislative candidate, Matt Patten. The same way they are helping turn Ohio blue and helping turn blue Ohio progressive, they are busy in Wisconsin assisting men and women with progressive values make their ways up the political ladder.

Amy Sullivan has been a target of blogger ire in the past, largely due to her propensity for assuming that her personal positions are far more reflective of those of the general populace than any empirical evidence would indicate. 

And blogger critiques are frequently leveled by journalists who have had bad run-ins with the netroots in the past, and want to generalize their own experience way past anything that they merit. 

With such scant evidence for her claims, one is tempted to suggest that Amy is projecting once again.

Some of the most hotly contested congressional races are turning towards Democrats. One of the most important races for progressives in the country, in the suburbs east and south of Seattle (WA-08) pits progressive leader Darcy Burner against a pathetic and corrupt rubber stamp Bush puppet, Dave Reichert. Darcy took him apart in a debate last week and the newest polling shows her beating him by a healthy 5 point margin.
