Late Night FDL: American Family Association Endorsements Soaked in Hypocrisy

By: Pam Spaulding Wednesday December 28, 2011 8:00 pm

Friend of the Blend, Joe Murray, a former staff attorney for the American Family Association, has written a sizzling op-ed in the Des Moines Register addressing the Wildmon family hate machine’s participation in the 2012 GOP Clown Car endorsement game.

Lowe’s All-American Muslim Fiasco and the Politics of Normalcy

By: Michelle Chen Friday December 23, 2011 5:07 pm

Their slogan is “Never Stop Improving,” but lately, “Never Stop Denying” seems more fitting. Lowe’s has rebuffed a 200,000-signature petition to reinstate ads on the new reality television series All-American Muslim on The Learning Channel.

Big Godwin

I don’t think Godwin’s Law applies if it’s an actual Nazi image.

Rick Perry: Strong on Bigotry

By: Laurel Ramseyer Wednesday December 7, 2011 6:30 pm

The ad’s not going over well. Not surprising, since insulting our soldiers and defining an entire religion based on your own narrow beliefs isn’t the American way.

Happy Thanksgiving – Have a Serving of ‘Black’ Mac and Cheese, Courtesy of Pat Robertson

By: Pam Spaulding Thursday November 24, 2011 2:56 pm

When 700 Club host Kristi Watts interviewed Condi Rice about her holiday dishes, both agreed that mac and cheese was their favorite item on the menu. This baffled the out-to-lunch fundamentalist, apocalypse-predicting Robertson, who didn’t mince words – after all, Condi’s black, Watts is black, therefore mac and cheese=”black food”.

GOP Keeps Letting Their Masks Slip

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday September 24, 2011 6:45 am

The same Republicans who are making the most noise over the Bush-backed Solyndra loan guarantee (yeah, Diaper David Vitter, I’m looking at you) are being oddly quiet over Bush’s role in making it happen, just as they’re being oddly quiet over their own support of loan guarantees and outright grants (aka free taxpayer money, folks) for energy-related projects in their own Republican districts. And you won’t hear Darrell Issa talk much about the burgeoning San Bernardino Airport scandal that’s unfolding, complete with an FBI raid, in the home district of Issa’s fellow California Republican congressman, Jerry Lewis, the former head of the House Appropriations Committee and a big fan of the Berdoo Boondoggle

Come Saturday Morning: Bachmann and Arpaio, Sittin’ in a Swing

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday September 17, 2011 6:45 am

Just as Norm Coleman and other relatively progressive — or at least pragmatic — Republicans try to reassure Latino voters that the GOP isn’t stuffed stem-to-stern with lily-white bigots cowering in fear of skins browner than theirs, Michele Bachmann has to go harsh their mellow by visiting Joe Arpaio for the second time this year.

Come Saturday Morning: Meet ALEC’s Fair-Haired Cabin Boy, John Hinderaker

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday July 30, 2011 6:45 am

One of the right wing’s staunchest and most prolific public defenders of ALEC is none other than John Hinderaker of the PowerLine Blog. However, in his plentiful writings on the subject, there are some words you won’t find — words like “ALEC is a client of my law firm”.

Come Saturday Morning: He’s Not a Terrorist — He’s a Freedom Fighter!

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday July 23, 2011 6:45 am

When the news first came of the shocking terror attacks in Norway yesterday, movement conservatives figured that Muslims were the perpetrators. Turns out the guy was a Con himself.

Sunday Late Night: CNN Spotlights Hate

By: Teddy Partridge Sunday June 12, 2011 8:01 pm

Tony Perkins is not genuine himself. Tony Perkins lies. Tony Perkins hates. Why does CNN provide him op-ed space to blather about Values nowadays, as if his opinion is important and valuable to GOP primary voters?
