Videoblogging for the Masses

By: Spazeboy Wednesday June 27, 2007 4:30 pm

There’s no question that videoblogging has profoundly impacted our political landscape. Take 2006 for example: You have a macaca moment, a candy shop encounter, a stairway chase, and even a re-enactment (see above). Those are just the videos that occurred to me off the top of my head.

The Senator, The Soldier, And The Media

By: Phoenix Woman Friday June 15, 2007 6:17 pm

Funny doings here in Minnesota lately. Our Republican governor, Smilin’ Tim Pawlenty, responded to narrowly winning re-election by being an arrogant prick. He’s been copiously using his veto knowing that he has just enough Republicans to blindly back him up and overcome the will, not just of the newly-elected Democratic majority in the state legislature [...]

“Some believed I should convene a federal grand jury and bring innocent people before the grand jury.”

By: Phoenix Woman Friday June 15, 2007 11:00 am

Truthout’s Jason Leopold just conducted an interview with former U.S. Attorney John McKay, who was one of the targets in the Bush Justice Department’s massive U.S. Attorney purge scandal. And it’s a doozy. Here’s some excerpts from the story associated with the interview: “I asked for a meeting with Harriet Miers, whom I had known [...]

Thor Hearne, Stalinism and the American Center for Voting Rights

By: Phoenix Woman Thursday June 14, 2007 4:30 pm

Regular readers of FDL and other outposts in the reality-based community know about the great lengths to which conservatives in and out of the Bush Administration go and have gone to push the bogus notion that encouraging minorities and women to vote is actually “voter fraud”. (The U.S. Attorney purge scandal came about because the attorneys [...]

Late Nite FDL: Tidbits

By: Phoenix Woman Wednesday June 6, 2007 8:00 pm

Hello, everyone!  This is Phoenix Woman again, subbing for TRex, who is on a well-deserved vacation.  I'll also throw out a Late Late Nite post if y'all seem particularly rambunctious tonight. Thought I'd pass along the following news tidbits — Some are old, some are new, some are borrowed, and some are blue: – Under [...]

Late Nite FDL: The Agony of Defeat

By: Phoenix Woman Tuesday June 5, 2007 8:00 pm

Hello, everyone!  PW here, stepping in tonight for TRex, who is taking a much-deserved vacation.  Give him a big psychic birthday hug, 'kay? Goodness Gracious, losing elections really seems to send conservatives and Republicans into Bonkersville, doesn't it?  (And it's not a hangover from '06, either — the Republicans are getting their butts kicked so [...]

Debate Rehash

  What did you think?

Our Karl Rove? Pshaw.

Rahm Emanuel continues to amaze and impress.  Not content with nearly fucking up the 2006 House races as head of the DCCC with his "don't mention the war" strategy, he's now in the process of bungling immigration. Jonathan Singer of MyDD was on an immigration conference call with Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA), who carries the [...]

Blue America Live Vlog with John Laesch

By: Howie Klein Saturday May 26, 2007 1:00 pm

(You can open a window to the vlogging session with Howie and John by clicking here.) In last year's congressional races there was no candidate who Blue America contributors were more excited about than Illinois Fighting Dem John Laesch. Over a thousand of our donors contributed over $20,000 to his longshot campaign against the powerful [...]

I Know I Shouldn’t Say This, But. . .

By: Pachacutec Friday May 25, 2007 9:45 am

There were a few of us after the midterms working hard to define Steny Hoyer (photo), Rahm Emanuel and the compromised Dems to keep them from expanding their power by claiming credit for the midterm results, which we believe happened more in spite of, rather than because of, their efforts. We took a lot of [...]
