As McCain is now chastising Barack Obama for pointing out the obvious–that he is Bush in an elderly gentleman’s clothing, I surmised that providing what the John McCain of 2005 thought about their shared priorities might come in handy …

Jack Abramoff and pork-barrel spending serve as the go-to excuses for John McCain, whenever it is revealed that he once again lost control of his explosive temper. But there’s one problem with that: As is often the case, McCain’s relationship with Abramoff has more to it than he would like you to know.

Buried in this piece on Obama books coming out this summer and fall, I spotted this little tidbit: The conservative Regnery Publishing just announced two books for August: David Freddoso’s “The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate,” and Thomas Blood’s “The Clinton Collapse: How Bill Clinton Lost Hillary Her ‘Sure Thing’ Nomination (And Might Even Make Obama Lose Too).”

ood to know another Republican has so much respect for our Constitution …

As you’ll see in this video at left, from a town hall meeting in Nashville, Tennessee Monday, mixed in with platitudes about gay marriage, we get a nice little comment from this questioner on the sanctity of marriage in McCain’s life–or more to the point, sanctimony.

10:23: Change is not a word that describes the McCain-Bush agenda, a war that “never should have been authorized and never should have been waged.”

Barack Obama is reminding McCain that visiting US cities and towns wouldn’t be a bad idea once in a while. He is saying so much that if McCain tried to respond his dentures would probably fall out.

9:03: MSNBC – Obama is the nominee. It seems everyone is agreeing. Obama is the nominee. Thank God they broke away from McCain’s oratorical waterboarding of all cable tv viewers.

CNN – Same thing. Obama is the nominee. Roland Martin is talking about how we have finally lived up to The I Have A Dream Speech.

7:55 – MSNBC – Harold Ford Jr. discusses Barack Obama’s “global DNA” and reminds those who might think Obama is “elitist” that John McCain married into a beer fortune. For that, Ford gets a “HA!” laugh from Chris Matthews.
