It's August, and that means members of Congress are back home in their districts. State bloggers, we need your help!
State blogs have had a huge impact in our whip count efforts. Representatives really, really care what the people in their back yards are saying. I can tell you that state blogs like Left Wing Cracker, FBIHOP, Rochester Turning and Dirigo Blue can have a bigger impact than the front page of the Washington Post on their members of Congress.
There are some great resources for state blogs, but the blog world turns over pretty fast. So we wanted to invite those who would like to partner with us on the whip count to let us know.

Earlier today Jane reported that 53 House progressives signed a letter stating they won't vote for the Blue Dog compromise. That number has grown to 57, and the names of the signatories have been released.
