The Georgian Big Kahuna is asking the US to use its “clout” to help end yet another dirty little war between them and Pootie-Poot’s troops in the Country Once Known As Evil. For some strange and unknown reason Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili is asking for our help in ending dust-up between his country and Rrrroooshya.

- About Me:
- Jo started blogging when the right-wingers started making utter, complete asses of themselves, which would be since around 2002 or so in their current incarnation as mind-sucking zombies. A life-long Democrat and career DFH whose parents voted for all the Kennedys at one time or another, he still has an "RFK for President" banner in his garage from 1968. Jo still flies airplanes for a major airline, and is proud of his safety record: his take-offs and landings are still equal in number. The cost of fuel may soon end that career, in which case he's planning to become a pan-handler or investment banker, whichever is more prestigious.

To the Bitter End |

The 1600 Crew is again determined to undermine the public welfare for ideology, no matter what the cost to our society. As the former (and some present) DoJ idealogues and their schemes are revealed at painful Senate hearings, it seems that in another completely different arena the undercover idealogues are trying to assert their agenda and force a last-minute change in Health and Human Services rules to allow “health care workers” to discriminate against women (or anyone else) who desire reproductive services or any health care that the “worker” does not want to provide.
Maverick’s next big idea? |

The Wire Service that Must Not Be Named is reporting that our old pal Maverick McMaverick is now saying that The Owner of Nope is probably, maybe sorta-kinda right about a phased in 16 month withdrawl (how do we rework that old Vietnam-era joke… withdrawl is something that George Sr. should have practiced with Barb about 62 years ago) from Eye-Rack.
Drag Queen Politics |
| By: Jo Fish Sunday July 20, 2008 4:00 pm |
No, no… I’m not making fun of drag queens, but I’m starting to think that American politics has become no more than one huge drag show of lip-synching performances by politicians impersonating people.
Obama? Oh wait… |
| By: Jo Fish Sunday July 13, 2008 5:00 pm |
Like many of you, I have been disappointed that Obama has begun to not just move to the political “center” but has been rushing there in a headlong pursuit of some bizarro-world perfect political postioning for the masses. Now it seems that our presumptive candidate is becoming a John McCain-clone to woo those “centrist” voters into his camp.
Bush: 62 And Still Lying |

From an interview with Glorious Beloved Leader in Japan, the question that preceded this “answer” if you can call it that, was this:Q Last question on Iraq. What is your evaluation about where Iraq is now? Do you think now if the U.S. can afford to withdraw more troops from Iraq, or will you leave that decision to the next administration?
Triangulation is for today, Leadership is Forever |

I am going to vote for Barack Obama in November. There is not even an iota of doubt in my ex-military mind about that, but it does not mean that I am going happily into the voting booth; it does not mean that I endorse, or even like all his policies and the stands he has taken on issues.
Why the Webb GI Bill … |

With the advent of the “all-volunteer” force in the years after Vietnam, one of the things that recruiters sold the young men and women was the “dream” that they would be able to achieve a better life for themselves either as career military, or taking their post-service benefits and head off to get either college or vocational training, buy a home and take advantage of other benefits designed for men and women who came home from WWII.
The Great Black Hole of Afghanistan |
| By: Jo Fish Monday June 16, 2008 5:59 pm |
Afghanistan. The black hole of American foreign policy. After the brief war following the events of 9/11, most of the American people were behind the events and felt that there was not only a purpose but a plan to defeating the Taliban and the people that they were sheltering, Al-Qaeda.
Quick Quotes From Our Beloved Glorious Leader |
| By: Jo Fish Sunday June 15, 2008 10:28 am |
Our current Beloved Glorious Leader certainly has a way of making it all about him, doesn’t he? A quick quote (and one I hope will live in infamy right up there with “Bring ‘em On and “Dead or Alive”…)”If I were a betting man, we’ll reach agreement with the Iraqis,” Bush said.
