Corporations Sitting On $1.84 Trillion Cash

By: Dave Johnson Tuesday July 6, 2010 5:20 pm

Clearly the Republican argument that tax cuts will stimulate growth is nonsense. These companies are sitting on cash, and tax cuts will only cause the profitable companies (taxes are on profits) to sit on more cash.

Is Fox News Setting Up the Next ACORN?

By: Dave Johnson Monday July 5, 2010 7:15 pm

The Department of Justice isn’t prosecuting for “voter intimidation” two “Black Panthers” for standing outside a polling place during the 2008 election, and this is evidence that the Obama administration won’t protect white people from the terrible things that black people do. The election is a few months away, and this story drives a narrative of “voter fraud” by minorities, and that the Obama administration helps “them” and is against “real Americans” and their values.

Oil Industry Subsidies: Whose Oil Is It?

By: Dave Johnson Sunday July 4, 2010 12:30 pm

Whose oil is it under the ground? Who “owns” that oil? In Alaska they decided the oil belongs to the People of the state and that the People will benefit if it is extracted. When the oil was discovered they created as part of their Constitution to establish the Alaska Permanent Fund, which collects at least 25% of the proceeds from companies that drill, and use that money for the People of the state for current and all future generations.

Bleak House: New Report Contains Little Hope for Jobless

By: Dave Johnson Saturday July 3, 2010 8:17 am

As the stimulus winds down and the Congress and other world governments cut back the economy appears to be slowing. Things are looking bleak.

BP Oil Disaster: Choppy Seas Interrupt Everything – Except the Continued Use of Dispersant

By: Dave Johnson Friday July 2, 2010 2:45 pm

Hurricane Alex has passed but the aftermath of the storm continues to hamper cleanup and containment efforts. The Helix producer ship has been waiting to join the capture effort. This will allow a switch of containment caps, which facilitates connecting and disconnecting when storms come in, and might help relief-well efforts, but could mean free-flowing oil for a week to ten days.
