“They got this”

Sure, the Obama Administration admits they should have sent somebody “higher up” to Paris to protest mass murder.

But not to worry, I’m sure they’ll be doubling up on the droning of weddings and funerals throughout Afghanistan, Yemen and Pakistan to show they are committed to the fight.

Because we all know that will really solve the problem…the problem of not having problems to eventually be a problem you can drone.

Meanwhile, for those who must think the world could not care less…

While the monstrosity occurred in Paris, less reported monstrosities of an ever larger scale go comparatively lightly reported

Hundreds of bodies – too many to count – remain strewn in the bush in Nigeria from an Islamic extremist attack that Amnesty International described as the “deadliest massacre” in the history of Boko Haram.

It is noteworthy that millions took part in protests around Europe over the violence in Paris — and disturbing the usual suspects beat the flames of more hatred — but also noteworthy mass murder that just causes shrugs.

Damn you DeBlasio!!!

I know you’re in New York and all but still!

Previously unreleased surveillance footage surrounding the police shooting of a boy in Cleveland shows authorities forcing the young victim’s 14-year-old sister to the ground, handcuffing her and putting her in a patrol car.

The video, obtained by the Northeast Ohio Media Group and released on Wednesday, also indicates that Cleveland Police waited four minutes before administering first aid to the dying 12-year-old boy, Tamir Rice.

On second thought, this is beyond anything but outrage.

Oh this will go over well

Chris Christie, fresh from allegations that he closed a bridge out of spite has a new problem on his hands.

After donning a “Fat Albert”-like look on Sunday as he rooted on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys (that will go over well with his Giant and Eagle supporting constituents) there’s this:

Less than two years before Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones paid for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s tickets and travel to NFL games, government documents show Christie personally pushed the Port Authority to approve a lucrative contract for a firm part-owned by Jones. Christie nonetheless accepted the gifts from Jones, despite New Jersey ethics rules barring gifts to public officials from persons or entities that those officials “deal with, contact, or regulate in the course of official business.”

Hey, Hey, Hey!

If only Anita Bryant was alive to see this…

Oh, she’s still alive.

Good!

Miami-Dade County became the first place in Florida to allow same-sex couples to marry on Monday, half a day before a gay-marriage ban that has been ruled unconstitutional is lifted in the rest of the state.

Instead of cake, might I suggest a wedding pie?

FoxNews…your number one source for right-wing pols biding their time between quadrennial financial tours.

Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, is ending his weekend program on Fox News — effective immediately — as he contemplates another run for president.

“I won’t make a decision about running until late in the spring of 2015, but the continued chatter has put Fox News into a position that is not fair to them,” Huckabee wrote in a letter to supporters Saturday evening released before his show started airing.

“The honorable thing to do at this point is to end my tenure here at Fox so I can openly talk with potential donors and supporters and gauge support,” he added.

So much irony, so much need for money.

If Huckabee starts losing weight again…

Make sure that popcorn is “air-popped”

Because you may need it as you watch this unfold.

The reporter and the photographer responsible for misquoting Tyrone West’s sister, Tawanda Jones, at a protest rally in Washington, D.C., reporting she and others chanted “kill a cop,” have been let go by Fox 45…

But it seems there has been further fallout, as reporter Melinda Roeder and cameraman Greg McNair have been released, and news director Mike Tomko and a producer who expressed his discomfort with the story have been suspended one and two days, respectively.

An insider told FTVLive Tomko was the one who pushed doing the story. “It was found by him, assigned by him and ultimately proofed by him,” the source said.

Now a person familiar with the situation tells City Paper the news director is losing control of the newsroom, with photographers threatening to stage a “sick out.”

“The reporters and photogs believe Tomko sacrificed two little people to save himself,” the source says.

Both Roeder and McNair are “lawyering up,” the source also says.

Lawyer up, people!

Foul Balls and the symbol for three strikes

Congressman Steve Scalise is quickly becoming the most racist whip not held by Simon Legree. And considering his past competition, that’s saying something.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) has emphasized this week that he was not aware of the hateful views of a white nationalist group founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke when he spoke before it at a convention over a decade ago.

Yet the event was apparently well known and toxic enough that it forced a minor league baseball team from Iowa to move to a different hotel to avoid bumping into the May 2002 conference.

The Iowa Cubs, a AAA team, were planning to stay at the Best Western Landmark Hotel in Metairie, Louisiana at the same time as the national convention for the European-American Unity and Rights Organization was being held there.

But according to newspaper reports at the time, the local New Orleans team that was arranging the visiting team’s accommodations made a change in part because of concerns about the EURO event.

Steve Scalise, classy with three Ks.

But first, how much do the bankers make in interest?

In what may become a never ending story:

Greece was plunged into a renewed political crisis on Monday after parliament failed to elect a head of state, setting the stage for snap polls tipped to bring radical leftists to power.

Athens’s 300-seat house voted by 168-132 in favour of Stavros Dimas, a former European commissioner and the sole candidate for the post, becoming president, but he had been required to win 180 ballots.

Oh, oh, radical leftists…we cannot be allowed to have that!

Especially considering this

Five years into Greece’s worst economic crisis in decades, the stridently anti-austerity Syriza party is leading polls and likely to win. The leftists have declared that renegotiation of the accords Athens has signed with the EU, ECB and IMF – the bodies that have kept it afloat to the tune of €240bn – will be among its top priorities. It will also seek to write off the country’s monumental €320bn debt – ambitions that have revived fears of Greece colliding with creditors and being ejected from the eurozone.

Yes, Yahweh forbid the non-wealthy do not suffer.
