Attaturk

About Me:
In 1949, I decided to wrestle professionally, starting my career in Texas. In my debut, I defeated Abe Kashey, with former World Heavyweight boxing Champion Jack Dempsey as the referee. In 1950, I captured the NWA Junior Heavyweight title. In 1953, I won the Chicago version of the NWA United States Championship. I became one of the most well-known stars in wrestling during the golden age of television, thanks to my exposure on the Dumont Network, where I wowed audiences with my technical prowess. I was rumored to be one of the highest paid wrestlers during the 1950s, reportedly earning a hundred thousand dollars a year. My specialty was "the Sleeper Hold" and the founding of modern, secular, Turkey. Oops, sorry, that's the biography of Verne Gagne with a touch of Mustafa Kemal. I'm just an average moron who in reality is a practicing civil rights and employment attorney in fly-over country .

Blame it on Benghazi!?

Darrell Issa’s record of sound and fury signifying nothing” continues. Probe fails to link IRS scandal to White House

Finally, some rational perspective

By: Tuesday December 23, 2014 1:30 am

And by that of course I mean, no rationality or perspective whatsoever, just pure nausea: Rudy Giuliani: 2 NYC Cops Were Killed Because Obama Told Everyone To ‘Hate The Police’ Says the man who had the act of “rape via broom handle by police” named after him.

Yeah, that seems about right…

Is this the proportional response? Hustler boss Larry Flynt announced that he’s producing a parody version of ‘The Interview’ as a response to the film being pulled from theaters amid threats by hackers linked to North Korea.   So many levels of exploitation in one simple short paragraph.

I’m not sure we really know the meaning of that word…

By: Friday December 19, 2014 1:30 am

Or we do: we just, as in all things like big portions. The United States said on Thursday a cyber attack on Sony Pictures was a serious national security matter and the Obama administration was considering a proportional response, although the White House stopped short of blaming North Korea. How about you encourage the release [...]

The not so-great dictated to

Charlie Chaplin can parody Hitler in 1940 (shortly after The Three Stooges, no less!) but the guys who made Pineapple Express cannot parody Kim Jong-Un? We’ve really come a long way, huh?

Still awaiting evidence for Steve King, however…

It’s not all darkness and cold. Well, I guess it is, but anyway. NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover has measured a tenfold spike in methane, an organic chemical, in the atmosphere around it and detected other organic molecules in a rock-powder sample collected by the robotic laboratory’s drill. “This temporary increase in methane — sharply up [...]

To preserve (themselves) and protect (themselves)

What apparently passes for good police work in Ohio (and undoubtedly elsewhere): Police aggressively questioned the tearful girlfriend of a young black man they had just shot dead as he held a BB gun in an Ohio supermarket – accusing her of lying, threatening her with jail, and suggesting that she was high on drugs. [...]

At least Operation Paperclip

Had arguably redeeming qualities…it wasn’t an out-and-out sequel. The CIA officer tasked with interrogating the most important prisoners in America’s secret detention programme allegedly abused captives during the agency’s covert operations in Latin America in the 1980s, it has emerged. The US Senate’s three-year inquiry into the CIA’s use of torture after September 11 reveals [...]

It’s never a good sign when you start paraphrasing Judy Miller

By: Friday December 12, 2014 1:30 am

Shorter CIA: “We were fucking right!” Well, right if you mean, gave Dick Cheney a chance to get his shriveled possibly mechanical, definitely metaphorical, rocks off. CIA Director John Brennan has defended the agency’s post-9/11 interrogation methods but admitted some techniques were “harsh” and “abhorrent”. I’m sure there will never be bad thing that ever [...]

The good stewards…

Earth, humanities gigantic dumping ground. More than five trillion pieces of plastic, collectively weighing nearly 269,000 tonnes, are floating in the world’s oceans, causing damage throughout the food chain, new research has found. Data collected by scientists from the US, France, Chile, Australia and New Zealand suggests a minimum of 5.25tn plastic particles in the [...]
