Kevin Baron, a wizard at Freedom of Information Act requests, has generously agreed to give a webinar presentation tomorrow night for Occupy Supply on how to submit FOIA requests regarding the government’s actions against occupations across the country — and more importantly, what to do when the government won’t comply.

#OccupySupply Announces Winners for Outstanding Local Occupy Action

The FDL community has voted to award five occupations with a command post tent from Occupy Supply for their outstanding community activism. Every day at Occupy Supply we talk with occupations across the country who are doing amazing work. When we hear that “occupy is dead,” we know that someone is seriously ill-informed. So if you see a journalist repeating the “occupy is dead” meme, be sure to forward them this list to let them know that reports of Occupy’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Over 700 Nominations for Outstanding Local Occupy Activism — And Counting

There have already been over 700 nominations of local occupations for outstanding community activism, representing 149 occupations across the country. Occupy Supply announced the contest yesterday, and we’ll be accepting nominations up until this Monday.

Five occupations will receive command post tents worth $5000 each, three will receive media laptops, and twelve runners-up will receive a credit for supplies at the Occupy Supply store.

Occupy Supply is announcing a contest to give away five 11′ x 11′ command post tents worth $5000 each, three media laptops equipped with webcams for live streaming and twelve $100 gift certificates for supplies from the Occupy Supply store to reward occupations for their ongoing community activism.

Dan Choi Tarsands Trial Continues Today

Dan Choi’s trial after being arrested protesting the Keystone XL Pipeline during the TarsandsAction last August continues today. We’re looking forward to hearing the government’s excuse as to why out of 1250 people arrested at the White House during the Tar Sands action, Dan Choi was singled out for prosecution.
