There Is Not Enough Brain Bleach In All The World…By: Eli Friday May 9, 2008 6:01 pm |
This is quite possibly the most horrifying thing I have ever heard. Joe Lieberman goes waaaay below and beyond the call to defend poor Johnny's beleaguered bearings.
The Most Important Primaries Evar OMGBy: Eli Tuesday May 6, 2008 6:01 pm |
Well, it looks like NC and Indiana are both already decided, with Indiana going for Clinton and NC going for Obama. The shot clock is running out in the bottom of the 8th, and Hillary is not picking up yards, not even on the power play. Also, disappointingly, it looks like progressive gay candidate Jim Neal is getting crushed by DSCC apparatchik Kay Hagan in the NC-SEN primary. Feh.
The Patron Saint Of BipartisanshipBy: Eli Sunday May 4, 2008 1:01 pm |
It's Barney the dinosaur, of course. No, seriously, it makes perfect sense. Let me count the ways.

Did you know that Rummy had absolutely no idea that all of the Army's reconstruction expertise was redeployed out of Iraq right after Mission Accomplished? It's true!
Well, sort of. In his new memoir, General Ricardo Sanchez recounts his surreal 2006 exit interview, in which Rummy shares a memo...
Late Nite: Go Fox YourselfBy: Eli Tuesday April 29, 2008 8:01 pm |
I just don't get this. Obama makes the mistake of legitimizing Fox News, and Hillary's reaction is, "Damn, why didn't I think of that? I cannot allow a Fox News gap! I must appear on Fox immediately, with someone even more hateful and vile! Get me Bill O'Reilly, stat!"
McFakeBy: Eli Friday April 25, 2008 6:01 pm |
Remember last week when I said he was burnishing his civil rights credentials to fortify himself against backlash from racist anti-Obama ads? Dave has an excellent rundown on how McCaca pretends to take the high road while actually doing nothing to stop the racist anti-Obama ad in North Carolina.
As Dr. Dean and the DNC point out, McCain could stop it if he really wanted to. At the very least, he could strip the NCGOP leadership of their committee assignments with his campaign and the Republican National Convention to show that he will not be associated with racist slimethrowers. But no, he settles for an imploring letter.

Just as I predicted prior to Wednesday's debate. As Jane Austen might say if she were a political pundit instead of a 19th century novelist, it is a truth universally acknowledged that a Democratic presidential candidate in possession of a minority of pledged delegates must be in want of a huge landslide victory in Pennsylvania.
Some Of John McCain’s Best Friends Are Black PeopleBy: Eli Monday April 21, 2008 4:31 pm |
Well, it looks like there are a couple of pro-McCain narratives brewing, one obvious, one maybe not-quite-as-obvious. The obvious one is that yeah, Senator McCain has a temper, but that's actually a good thing. John McCain is simply a very passionate man, who cannot contain his righteous fury at waste, corruption, and bad behavior. You know, like when his wife makes comments about his hair, or a fellow Congressman takes exception to being called "boy," that sort of thing.
Clueless Or Complicit?By: Eli Friday April 18, 2008 6:01 pm |
Yesterday, a very frustrated Cenk Uygur asked whether the American media was getting played by the Republican party, or whether they are in on the game. Well, let's look at where a couple of the more repellent questions in Wednesday's debate came from:
By: Eli Wednesday April 16, 2008 7:55 pm |
Well, that was really, really horrible. Charlie Gibson and Mr. Snuffalupagus fed Clinton and Obama nothing but gotcha questions. Torture never came up, China never came up, unchecked executive power never came up, and it was 50+ minutes in before they asked any questions that could be considered remotely substantive or issues-based.
