Who Says Republicans Aren’t Funny?By: Jane Hamsher Thursday August 7, 2008 11:49 am |
Karl Rove on John McCain: "Mr. McCain is the most private person to run for president since Calvin Coolidge in the 1920s. He needs to share (or allow others to share) more about him." Yeah, he probably needs to start talking about that POW thing he never wants to bring up. .
Liberals and Conservatives Agree: Nikki Tinker’s Campaign Is ReprehensibleBy: Jane Hamsher Thursday August 7, 2008 7:03 am |
Yesterday Emily's List issued a statement denouncing the vicious ad released by Harold Ford's machine candidate Nikki Tinker against Blue America candidate Steve Cohen (which has now been yanked from YouTube). The primary is today, and as Howie noted yesterday, Cohen's request for help from Nancy Pelosi and the DCCC fell on deaf ears.
#Dontgo — Right Roots Rising?By: Jane Hamsher Wednesday August 6, 2008 12:00 pm |
The much more realistic counterpart to the left's online organizing efforts are probably to be found with the Ron Paul conservatives, who are disgusted at the fact that their principles of smaller government, civil liberties and no foreign intervention have been sacrificed to the highest bidder. Their online organizing efforts are likewise nacent, but their counter-convention in Minneapolis seems a lot more interesting than an effort to boil Exxon's messaging down to 150 characters so a bunch of people can repeat it with sheep-like accuracy.
Face it, fellas. You're still getting pwnd.
McCain Says 8,000 Ohio Jobs Lost Are “Narrow And Protectionist Concerns”By: Jane Hamsher Wednesday August 6, 2008 7:24 am |
Ted Stevens wanted to make the deal less attractive by stipulating in a military spending bill that foreign-owned carriers couldn't be used to fly military equipment or troops, but McCain, as head of the Commerce Committee, objected. His campaign released a statement, citing the need for "providing the best return to American taxpayers, irrespective of narrow and protectionist concerns."

Tell Congress To Investigate ABC’s Anthrax Claims — Sign the Petition!By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday August 5, 2008 12:06 pm |
Representative Rush Holt, Chairman of the House's Select Intelligence Oversight Panel, spoke with Glenn Greenwald on his new radio show and expressed his support for an independent Congressinal investigation into the unresolved questions about the Anthrax attacks. So Accountability Now is launching a petition that will be delivered to the Democratic leadership in Congress who could make it happen: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Evan Bayh: Change You Can’t Believe InBy: Jane Hamsher Tuesday August 5, 2008 8:00 am |
If Obama picks Iraq war hawk Evan Bayh as his VP, he's certainly ceding the high road he gained from his early opposition to the war.
And speaking of the low road -- Lieberman was on WPLR radio yesterday for an interview with Chaz & AJ. Evidently Joe was conducting the interview on the toilet, and the sound of flushing could be heard in the background.
Fans of the show might want to call in and tell them to relive the glory (they make note of it on their website and are known for "beating a gag to death," according to one of their loyal listeners.)
Joe blabbing on the shitter. That would certainly give the Fox & Friends crowd something to chat about, eh?

EFCA: Why The Republicans REALLY Hate ObamaBy: Jane Hamsher Thursday July 31, 2008 12:00 pm |
The NRSC put together a commercial that's supposed to scare the bejesus out of everyone at the thought of EFCA (the Employee Free Choice Act) passing under an Obama administration, but I couldn't have made a better one myself.
