What can I say about the bulk of the above schedule…other than this:

Newt Gingrich: Republican Make-Over Spokesperson

Can't.  Stop.  Laughing.

I am looking forward to Rep.-elect Joe Sestak on This Week — it was fun just typing that, frankly, and I'm looking forward to seeing many more of our Blue America folks in the Sundays to come.  Here's to better Sunday viewing through election victories!

Please update below on what your find to be newsworthy, or not so newsworthy, as the case may be.

This morning's photo is of an Emperor Penguin in Antarctica.  I love this shot of the penguin preening there, all by itself, in the snow.  And I had to wonder, how on earth did Reuters find that shot — was it one of the scientists stationed down there who uploaded the photo to Flickr or something for family and friends to see and it got picked up?  Or do they have a science photographer who is stationed in Antarctica whose expenses are paid for through a contract with Reuters?  Or what?

Because someone stalking the frozen wilderness of Antarctica for a photographic safari sounds both very cold…and very cool.  Any guesses?

Smith family cookie count:  8 dozen cut-out sugar cookies (trees, stars and snowmen), minus a few samples; 2 dozen shortbread bars, one end dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with peppermint pieces; 9 dozen oatmeal raisin cookies…and counting.  One exhausted momma.  One frosting-and-sprinkles-covered, but very happy, Peanut.  Onward with more baking today.
