U.S. let Saddam gas Kurds for farm deal

Posted in: Uncategorized

Declassified CIA documents show that the US opposed sanctions on Iraq in the 80s when it was gassing Kurds because of fear of Iran and because, yes, they wanted to sell more food to Iraq.

Ya just can’t make this stuff up.

Oh, and there’s also a nice note on why Iraq was angry with the US: something about shipping arms to Iran.

You might recall that shipping those arms to Iran was against the law.  And that most of the law-breakers skated on it. Then a lot of them came back in Bush II and were behind the Iraq War.

Which is why I support letting go all the Bush apartchniks who committed war crimes this time around.  So they can do it again, next administration!
