One Week Before The Vote, Chambliss-Martin Senate Runoff Within The Margin Of Error

Posted in: 2008 Election, Senate

Saxby Chambliss’ smear campaign against Jim Martin could be backfiring, because it looks like we’ve got a race on our hands.

An InsiderAdvantage poll conducted for Politico.com shows Saxby Chambliss with a three-point lead over Democratic challenger Jim Martin, which is within the poll’s four-point margin of error.

“This thing’s going to be a nailbiter,” Insider CEO Matt Towery told Politico. “We don’t know who’s going to turn out and we don’t know how it’s going to turn out, but it’s going to be a close race.”

Meanwhile, a DSCC poll shows the race within 2 points.

Other runoff updates:

We can still get to 60. Support Jim Martin.
