Drudge Lies In Attempt to Make Obama Win Illegitimate

Republicans like Drudge have written off this election. They figure Obama is the next President, and they want to deny him a mandate by saying he won through fraud. Call it the "Clinton play". A lot of Republicans never really accepted that Clinton had the right to govern, and they spent 8 years making sure he was able to do as little as possible.

Of course, Bush actually did steal the election, and he governed as if he had a mandate. But then Democrats aren’t, as a rule, borderline psychotic crazy. They don’t call Republicans "traitors" and tolerate violent racism. There’s a hard core of Republicans, the same people who still support George Bush despite his complete incompetence and his manifest failure, who really do live in a world where "liberal" is a swearword, and Democrats are evil traitors who want to betray the US.

And Drudge caters to such people, carefully crafting a storyline which allows them to continue hating and which will allow them to try and do to Obama what they did to Clinton.
