McCain: Nevermind About That Whole Radical Islamic Extremism Thing

Posted in: 2008 Election,John McCain,War on Terror

Talk about deer in headlights. Check out this exchange between a Maine reporter and McSame where McSame:

  • dodges the question about Palin’s national security credentials by awkwardly segueing into the economy
  • denies he ever said that Islamic extremism was the biggest challenge facing the US (!!!)
  • then awkwardly segues to energy after said denial
  • then claims Palin knows more about energy than "probably anyone in the United States of America"

Let’s leave aside the last one — it’s too laughable.

It’s the second whopper that really demands scrutiny here. McSame has been saying for 7 years that defeating radical Islam is the greatest challenge of the 21st century and it’s the greatest evil in the history of evil. Some examples here, here, here and here.

Who’s he kidding with this crap?

In picking Palin, he not only gave up the ability to attack Obama on experience and national security — he has ditched his entire reason for running for president. I’ve never seen anything like it.

No wonder McSame’s afraid to do interviews and press conferences.
