Out Of Touch? From Bad To Verse?

Holy malarky Moses!  The McCain campaign’s Acme self-hoisting petard is replicating faster than hydra heads in a Herculean sword fight.  This may very well be the most inane, vapid and useless attempt at parody gone flat that I’ve seen in a long, long time.  Jeebus.

Let’s see:

– Cottage cheese with lime jello background and muttering, barely there crowd speech?  Check.

– Flat out lying about issues? Check.

– Insulting your only allies — the press — by turning your back on them with no explanation?  Check-a-reeno.  

–  Rampant flip-floppery?  Check.

–  Phony baloney wingnut welfare sham front group?  Check-a-roni.

– Creepy campaign poster?  Oh yeah.

– Unstable, yelling political surrogates?  Yeppers.  And, even worse, incompetent media surrogates?  Yesiree!

And never mind that they can’t get their facts consistent with their advert of the day. When life starts to be the snark, what’s the Daily Show to do? More mockery, of course.

Yesterday, Badwater suggested Led Zepplin’s "Dazed and Confused" as the McCain campaign theme song. I countered with Hall and Oates singing "Out of Touch." Then, Margot countered with the Rolling Stones’ "Out of Time." And Badwater came back with an amusing riposte of Frank Zappa’s "Duke of Prunes."

Mwahahahaha.

It was such a hoot. And I know there are more out there that are ripe for the snickering. So…what’s your suggestion for the McCain campaign theme song? Do tell…and happy Friday!
