Obama’s Trip: It’s Not “Presumptuous,” Especially When You Pull It Off
Posted in: 2008 Election, John McCain, Media, Obama
The Time’s Jeff Zeleny joins beltway chanting on how “presumptuous” Obama was in getting al Maliki’s approval for withdrawing troops, forcing McCain/Bush to recognize Afghanistan, being cheered by 200,000 Berliners and warmly embraced by Sarkozy and Brown.
Zeleny cites nothing remotely presumptious said by Obama, but apparently that’s irrelevant.
Frank Rich, on the other hand, explains that with Bush a lame duck and McCain an intemperate, incoherent whiner, power is surging to Obama, the world logically concluding he’s likely our next President. Unlike Zeleny et al, our allies aren’t confused by this, and they’re fine with it.
