Majority of Americans Not Fooled, Say More Drilling Won’t Reduce Oil Prices But Will Make Oil Companies Richer

So a new poll finds that 76% of Americans want new energy technology over new drilling, and 63% think opening ANWR and OCS will do more to make oil companies rich than lower gas prices. Heck, 54% don’t believe that more drilling on government lands will make gas prices cheaper at all.

Perhaps the village conventional wisdom that Republicans are winning the oil and drilling debate is as accurate as most village wisdom?
