GRITtv: Iraq, Paper, Scissors

Posted in: Democrats, Grit TV, Iraq, Media, Pop culture, Progressive culture, Religion, Republicans

Today we ask two vets and a pacifist what it means to Support The Troops in today’s United States. We talk with Matt Taibbi about what he calls our Great Derangement. All that, plus a PSA for a Handstand-A-Thon in Brooklyn (yes, a HANDSTAND-A-THON), the G.I. Bill of Rights, and One Immigrant’s Tale from the Movement Vision Lab.

But first, the premiere of “Got Docs?” – incredible works-in-progress that we want you to know about. Today: IRAQ PAPER SCISSORS. In the spirit of building a new community outside the military culture, Iraq veterans began a workshop in which they cut, beat and pulped their combat uniforms into paper, books and art.
