…And Chris Matthews may be breaking out the crystal ball sometime soon for numbers predictions, because he’s way too antsy to wait for something as boring as solid numbers. (Oh, who am I kidding. The longer this drags on, the more face time he gets.)

– Mrs. Alan Greenspan is reporting from Clinton HQ, where she reports that people are glummish because they aren’t expecting the humongous numbers they’d hoped for to rake in additional delegates. While watching her, I’m thinking two things: (1) God, this woman has a ginormous head. I mean, it’s humongous attached to her tiny little body. How does she stand upright in a gust of wind? and (2) If the Clinton campaign HQ has an open bar going, they will be even more in debt after this evening. (I’m not saying Andrea’s been hitting the sauce or anything, but I’d count the cognac bottles if I were in charge. Ya never know when a full count might come in handy. I’m just saying…)

– Who are these zombie people on all of the cable news stations, anyway? I think David Neiwert had it right with this, I have to say. No matter which station I turn to, it’s a zombie-o-rama this evening. Even the pundits are tired of the horse race. If it weren’t for the green room nosh and the extra tape for that next rung up the broadcast ladder toward super-duper-newsy-stardom, I think half of them would have stayed home with some melba toast and chopped vegetable pate. (Figure to watch, ya know.)

– Pat Buchanan has come dangerously close to saying he finds Barack Obama prissy. I think Pat is developing a bit of a crush. Oh, and Harold Ford?!? And it is too much to ask that someone tell Scarborough that the National Journal screwed up its methodology and Obama is NOT the most liberal Senator, so he can stop quoting that with that smartassy smirk on his face?

Duncan — too amusing.

– Norah O’Donnell tells me that Barack Obama is pulling in the following support in PA:

69% in Philly proper
62% in outlying Philly suburbia
38% in Pittsburgh and vicinity (which makes sense given Hillary’s blue-collar roots in the area)
42% in the rest of the state

At least, according to the most recent exit polls, that is. Which says it’s gonna be a long night of ballot counting and tallying. What else does it mean? Damned if I know.

– In the dull news of the evening, McCain appears to have won against all those candidates who just gave up and went home to their trust funds and gated communities to sulk in solitude. (And a certain Duran Duran fan wept softly into her Puffs with lotion…)

So pop the popcorn kids and settle into something comfy. Teddy’s making the martinis, and we’re sending Jane out for more pumpkin loaf for the poodles. Who wants to take a guess on the over and unders for this evening? Any guesses on the final division of votes? Because this is all going to come down to percentages and division of the 158 delegates in play…
