Late Late Nite FDL: Too Old To Cut The Mustard
Posted in: Music, Republicans, St. John McCain
As I watched John McCain and the Formaldehydes perform a victory eulogy in what looked to be a coat-room in a Virgina funeral parlor last night, an old song came to mind.
When I was young, I had an automobile
I’d scoot myself right under that wheel
I had to fight the gals off with a stick
But now they say,…"Oh, he makes me sick.
" Refrain:
He’s Too old, too old
He’s too old to cut the mustard any-more…
He’s a-gettin’ too old, he’s done got too old
He’s too old to cut the mus-tard any-more.
When I was young I had a lot of pep
I could get around, I didn’t need no help
But since I’m old and a-gettin’ gray
The people all look at me and say.
Refrain:
With just a few minor adjustments needed, some old songs seem to write the pertinent current campaign jingle, don’t they?
What’s on your mind tonight?
