New WaPost/ABC Poll: 72% of Americans Opposed to Cutting Medicaid, Favor Raising Taxes on Rich People

Posted in: debt ceiling,Medicare

In response to the question, “In order to reduce the national debt, would you support or oppose [ITEM]? Do you feel that way strongly or somewhat?” – there really is a beautiful symmetry.

(That 72% figure is oddly familiar.)

Anyway, the same poll showed majorities oppose raising the eligibility age for Medicare (54%).

What this all means is we’ll get a Grand Bargain that cuts Medicaid and raises the eligibility age for Medicare — while cutting taxes for rich people.
