John Prine — Illegal Smile (1989).
What’s on your mind?
Ah, this reminds me of my college days.
Saw Prine at the Orpheum in downtown Los Angeles a few years ago. He’s been through a lot, and I think the young guy behind him was doing the heavy lifting on the guitar playing.
Do we have a diagnosis from the techies as to what hit FDL yesterday/last night?
hey blue — how ya doing tonight? i’ve not heard what the troubles were but i’m glad i can finally get into fdl and *all* the sister sites… hopefully the tech crew will let us know what was going on after they wake up from well deserved rest
Aloha, Suz and bw…! Love that Prine clip…! ;-)
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? figured we could all use an illegal smile after yesterday…
hey rond — how ya doing tonight?
Hanabusa lost her initial court case to postpone the Puna vote tomorrow…!
We will finally say goodbye to her…! Yesterday, Hanabusa showed up in force with an entourage of 15 or so campaign crew(all wearing Hanabusa shirts) and basically glad-handed and posed for all the news crews…!
Meanwhile, Schatz, came yesterday and with 2-3 members, all dressed in actual work attire and joined in with several chainsaw crews, didn’t see one news clip of him in all the local news, I’d seen several pics of Schatz on FB working alongside the homeowners…!
Great pulsating map of how Twitter has responded to the police murder of Michael Brown and the protests in Ferguson.
EDITED TO ADD: FDL police people emeritus are not referenced explicitly or implicitly by this post.
an excellent illustration of the difference between them tut…. why was she trying to have the election postponed?
wow. amazing graphic
Loved the cut, too. John Prine is a diamond in the rough, isn’t he? Saw him in 1975. With a girl named Lydia, I believe. Sam and Donald were there, too. Great show with another Illinois boy named Steve Goodman. Haven’t heard much from him lately, though. Anyway, thanks for music as it scared the cats off my tin roof from an earlier posting. For the life of me, tonight, I can’t understand why people what to know about world genocide but not about the genocide goin’ down in their own backyards. Go figure, as memory always plays tricks on your mind, don’t it, though? Thanks, again.
hey wynota — glad you enjoyed it. how ya doing tonight?
Largely out of desperation, Suz, she knows she’s toast after tomorrow…!
Good morning, world! I guess I wasn’t the only one who had difficulty trying to access fdl yesterday; I thought something was wrong with my computer or its connectivity.
Good old John Prine!
Interesting thought about one’s own backyard, wynota skunk. You are so right!
Time for me hike in the woods, in the POURING rain. AARRGGHH!
Hey folks. I’m guest posting at Digby’s place this week.
What’s the Media Strategy of #Ferguson Protesters? The Police Have One.
I wasn’t going to write about this since everything seems to be writing about it, but hopefully I brought something new to the topic. Tomorrow I’m going to follow up on my Move America Forward piece.
hey sanssouci — rain? oh i wish i had rain. my mom who lives az and dearly misses rain is enjoying the 3rd day of rain in hungary. not many like rain on vacation but mom was pretty rain deprived.
hope you don’t get too soaked on your hike through the woods…
I’ve had better, thanks. Nice to have somewhere to hang a little.
hey spocko — i saw that a bit ago and tweeted it out. how ya doing tonight?
always a pleasure to see your fonts dood
You too, Suzanne. Thanks.
Send me a self-addressed, self-stamped envelope, and I’ll send you all you want!
*laughing* betcha the forkers at the nsa would forking confiscate it
sorry pups… as i posted on facebook today:
yesterday was 16 weeks since steph poofed. last night i dreamed she visited me and i heard her voice but could not see her. maybe that is why today is such a dreary day and i wish i could go back to sleep — so i can be with her again. i can still hear her voice in my head but can’t make out her words….
i just can’t shake this off today so i’m going to go wallow in my misery with the knowledge that i have set a hard limit of today only and i can not wallow when i get up tomorrow.
i apologize for dragging down your thread.
g’nite all — happy dreams
‘night Suz. You too.
neat timeline graphic!!!
says a lot!
good luck CT!
You didn’t drag down the thread tonight, and there’s no need to apologize. After all, the title is, “What’s on your mind tonight?”, and that is what is on your mind. I truly hope this all works out for you, somehow, and soon.
Looks like I’m the last to leave the party, so good night/morning, everyone!
