Joe Cocker and Leon Russell — The Letter, from Mad Dogs & Englishmen, 1971.
What’s on your mind?
There I said it.
well said wmd. how ya doing tonight?
Here’s a quarter.
I’m well. Interview today seemed to go quite well.
yay! when do you think you will find anything out?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! Still not a peep from Steph…? 8-(
not a peep tut. how ya doing tonight?
My guess is another round next week. This was hiring manager and guy I’d be replacing, talked with VP on Monday. they’re kind of time constrained want to have overlap before incumbent leaves beginning of June.
kewl. fingers and toes crossed dood
Am kind of imprinted on the Box Tops version (everyone’s a critic).
hey blue — i like them both too…. here ya go. how ya doing tonight?
Had a fantastic interview with a Masters Gal from UH-Manoa… To wit…
Collective Identity, Social Media, and the Occupy Movement
You are being asked to participate in a survey that will assist me in collecting data to complete a research project as part of the requirements of my Master’s degree program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The interview will be about your Internet and social media use as well as your feelings towards yourself, others and the Occupy Movement (also known as Occupy Wall Street).
Totally blew her mind…! In closing she’d asked if she could follow up later, then, said she’d probably meet me waving a sign somewhere…! ;-)
She was such a sweetie…! Shamelessly pimped FDL too…! ;-)
she scored when you were selected for the survey!!! betcha she’s doing a happy dance herself
Wow — the lip synching is way off, but yes, that’s the song that reminds me of my sophomore year of high school.
Am okay — nothing much to report: weather OK, work par for the course. I don’t have a lot of gas in the tank, but will hang around for a few posts.
we are supposed to be rainy until tuesday. wed we are forecast to be 78 and sunny and may even hit 80 – the first of the year if it happens…. lotta rain between now and then tho
I talk FDL up, too, trying to increase our tribe.
the time before the elections ramp up is always a a lull before the hectic starts… kinda a nice break but the hectic makes the time pass faster
She agreed to send me her published work, and was totally stoked when I said I’d share it here and abroad…! ;-)
Well, that’s the downside of living in a place where everything’s green. Both for warmth and lack of gray skies, I’m kind of spoiled by Southern California, although I do think about moving once I retire.
Have you ever heard Loudon Wainwright III’s “Grey in LA,” by the way? A fantastic song.
sweet.. you are gonna diary it right? when she gives ya the data?
it is… i always think of la song when i think of songs about la
iirc i featured her and joe bonamassa doing i’d rather go blind up top recently
Hopefully, I can get her to do the diary, but, if not I’ll do it…! ;-)
I was trying my dangdest to recruit her, bw…! ;-)
Interesting song…you’re expanding my musical horizons again, Suz.
Well, am gonna pull the ripcord early. Good to chat wid youze all.
Sometimes people are sales-resistant. The main thing is that you planted a seed.
and this is the song i think of when i think of la county…. the shelly west verses about la county always struck a cord with me
sweet…. knew you would be on top of it :)
g’nite blue — happy dreams
She was fascinated with FDL’s Occupy Supply actions, and then the various OLBs, using my Occupy as an example…!
fdl has a buncha occupy posts for her to delve into… we were one of the few media organizations covering it extensively as you well know.
This makes me think of SoCal, if not LA.
RC is giving me stink eye, guess I should sleep.
good night all.
g’nite wmd — happy dreams
hey ce — how ya doing tonight?
Pleasant dreams, wmd and bw…!
Aloha, Christine…! ;-)
looks like its just us tut
I suppose so, Suz…! Give Token some extra scritches for me, and I’m still praying for Steph…! Sweet dreams, M’dear…! *g*
thanks tut — g’nite and happy dreams
g’nite all — happy dreams. thank you for your support — it is needed and appreciated more than words can say.
