Pink Martini — Donde Estas Yolanda.
What’s on your mind?
Hi Suzanne…….hope you are back to full shit-kickin’ health and are staying warm. What a crazy time we’re living in. I try to keep my sense of humor intact!
hey dearie — how ya doing tonight?
Aloha, Suz, Dearie, and pups…! How was your weekend, Suz…? ;-)
i got the idea for tonight’s post from sherlock — tis the music playing when dr watson punches sherlock (in several scenes) when surprise – i’m not dead
aloha tut — it was quiet. did go into portland and get a facial mon and had lunch with teddy and patrick. how was your day?
Lovely at the beach! There has been some fabulous surfing going on. I’m merely an observer, of course, but it’s fun to be driving up the coast and seeing surfers getting long, long rides on beautiful breakers.
I’ve got work tomorrow so I won’t be around long, but just wanted to check in and say hi. Crazy SOTU….. I keep reminding myself to put politics in a tiny corner of my existence. I do what I can. I tolerate what I cannot change. I keep my pitchfork sharpened and my torches fueled.
am glad you stopped by dearie. i couldn’t bear to watch the sotu — its all words and no action and i’m sick and tired of the pretty words that don’t mean a thang
a facial mon and had lunch with teddy and patrick.
*heh* Some fab Me time, eh…? ;-)
ohmystars tut — patrick has magic hands… my face *still* feels soft and looks like it has less wrinkles
we did lunch at lardo…. it was fantabulous dood
hi suz, dearie, ct, just a driveby to say hi, and off to hit the hay. niters.
What fun! And what a perfect day.
spur! always a pleasure to see your fonts… g’nite spur and happy dreams
didn’t realize how cold the wind was — i only took a wrap with me and not a coat but teddy and patrick were wonderful distractions as we walked to the restaurant and back. it was only a few blocks each way but – hey, that’s more than i’ve walked in ages
OMG was that not the bomb?! What a show. We had Pink Martini at the Museum a few years ago. All seats sold out, impossible to get a ticket.
Love the name, did you have some of the house kimchee…? I’m a big fan of kimchee…! ;-)
Makes walking worth it!
hey ce — so glad ya like them — they are a portland icon — and duh! sherlock! how ya doing tonight?
i had the double burger and the 3 of us split an order of dirty fries. no kimchee ordered
i totally need a walking buddy (as i’ve been lamanting for a while) it makes all the difference in the world. if i had been by myself, i wudda not even thought about walking and wudda driven.
I so get that! I’ve got a walking buddy that I’ve been walking with for about 15 years….. we will do things for each other that we wouldn’t do for ourselves. I treasure the time I spend with her on our walks. It’s been so important to each of us over the years……both for health and for simple socialization and humor.
Watching the end of “Shakespeare in Love.” A favorite. 18 degrees now, so very much a normal temp. Planning to fly to NYC for the baby shower for my son and dil. Can’t wait — baby boy might be born on my birthday, or his mil’s birthday, two days in June.
i admit i need the nagging — for the walking buddy to tell me they don’t give a rat’s ass about (fill in the blank) to put on my shoes and go with them…
when’s the baby shower?
That’s what’s so fun about a regular…. Sylvia doesn’t have to push me and I don’t have to push her….. I know we both need it and I’m always going to be there for her unless I’m totally/thoroughly unable to be. We’ve enjoyed each others’ company and our walks because we know we need it and we care about each other. Special, for sure!
i’m a huge procrastinator…. and i like to hermit – a bad combo
That’s your first grandkid right, Christine…? *g*
Perky Music Video have to move with that. Hot Hot Hot!
Me, too! That’s why a steady companion works for me. I would Never let her down! And once we are started, I’m fine. I will do for her what I won’t necessarily do for myself. Perfect situation for both of us!
March 22. In Tri-becca New York. I’m lost there. Good thing that MsCE will be holding my hand.
Yes, indeed! We are excited beyond words. Oh, baby boy!
i wish i had a sylvia :)
*heh* Welcome to the club, M’dear…! ;-)
ditto — tis a wonderful club!
They are calling the baby (no reveal here) mini-Jack. It will be a first generation boy. SO EXCITED.
She’s the best! I’m going to tell her you said that because it will please her. We got together through work. Maybe you can find a Sylvia by getting involved in your community, or just by sitting and having coffee in a bakery (I met another great friend that way) ….. go on a “Sylvia Search”!
I’ve been opening boxes of children’s books that I’ve had in storage. Oh my, Nana librarian on the rush.
any new wedding details to report ce?
i’ve asked around but haven’t found anyone. the most interaction i get with folks is when i drive to scappoose (7 miles south) to my fav drive up coffee shack. is how i found my hired girl but haven’t found a sylvia yet…. please tell her i’m thankful that you have her
You are on the path of total delight and amazing fun! Enjoy it all. I’ve got 5 grandkids, and today I opened the baby announcement for my dad of his 8th greatgrandchild. It’s lovely and smile-enducing!

Bridal shower all planned. Horrible dress try on for me (if there was a cliff I would have thrown myself off of it); planning very simple flowers.
Thanks! I know I’m lucky!
Sweet! More later.
Have you got shoes yet? Suzanne is wonder-woman on shoes!
jen was great at helping me find a dress and shoes — i have no shopping skills and am lousy at finding stuff for myself. it was no anything i wudda looked twice at on the hanger but after trying on several outfits, it was a lot better on. took a buncha crappy dresses first tho.
what kinda flowers?
LOL… i’m great at picking out pretty ones but not so great at wearing them. thank goodness the dress i wore was full length — i slipped outta the heels and wore my fuzzy slippers at the reception
My Oasis of Sanity is my fellow Occupiers, without them, I’d be seriously lost…!
When we get close, I will post photos to you on FB. I have a dress in a Nordstrom’s box sitting on my dining room table, waiting for MsCE to help me try it on. I’m just too old and short to do this myself.
Sorry mens for all this wedding and baby talk. Goodnight all.
It is so good to have people you can understand, who understand you, and whom you can count on. Wow. Yes. So important. I always enjoy hearing about your Occupy group….. your efforts, and theirs, give us all encouragement.
Aloha, bb…! Great clip…!
Sweet dreams, CE…!
oooo thanks ce
no apology necessary ce — g’nite and happy dreams
looks like folks have drifted off to sleep
I’m rooting for at least 0.3 inches of snow Thursday/Friday, which will make January 2014 the snowiest month since the Weather Service started keeping records in Detroit.
I firmly believe that if you’re going to be awful, you should try to be historically awful.
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
Goodnite! Looks like I posted just after you decided it was time to go to Room Z.
