No public transportation from any of these places, just so you know. SIgh. Miss trains and such.
*heh* Why does that not surprise me in the ‘Tire Capital’…? ;-)
Good for your daughter and partner, and you. As to your ? about the blues. We’ll that horny old blues gets into everything so you see it pop up in Nirvana, Kings of Leon, Mashup Rap and Folk music, etc. They use to call it ” city country ” when it dominated the urban taverns and Southern roadhouses in the 70s. Now it’s so much a part of the world music scene and American roots music, too, we don’t make the obvious connections to its’ origins. And, Muddy, Howlin’ Wolf, Leadbelly, Sonny & Brownie, John Lee, Hound Dog, Luther, Junior Wells, R.L., Hendrix and Vaughn, and all the rest would say that’s a damn good start, methinks.
Aloha, wynota, mahalo, and I agree that most of our music these days are rooted in the Blues…! ;-)

Thanks for your great efforts, good tunes and many late late nights in a row, CT!
Can someone please tell me how one Blues song is really any different than any other Blues song? Other than that brief period of time when artists like Cream, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and even Pink Floyd were making the genre heavier (or weirder), Blues has pretty much stagnated at one point in its development for generations. It’s as if the Muddy Waters or the many different Kings were revered so much that their style became fetishized by everyone ever after.
