The Pretenders – Back On The Chain Gang
What’s on your mind tonight…?
Hi CT. How’s Hawaii?
Aloha, lln pups…! I hope y’all had a great Labor Day…!
Middle of the Road…
Aloha, eCAHN…! It was a hazy, lazy day here in paradise…! ;-)
This is hilarious… Captain Kirk watches Miley Cyrus performance
aloha tut — perfect song title for the end of a holiday weekend….
We have had 15-30 minute Tstorms moving in & out all day. In between usual summer stuff only not too hot. I read on back porch during one ferocious storm, with huge downpour. Cat sat under my chair but didn’t whine. Two lightings were in direction of neighbor’s and gigantic thunder clap arrived less than a second later. Emailed them to ask if they were OK and got a yes back and that they were happy to hear I was too.
I like to watch weather, assuming I can be someplace safe. Nature is awesome.
Lazy, hazy day here, too. We started out on the deck, ran away from rains, and then decided to work and cook.
Aloha, Suz…! Glad ya liked it…! How’s the Hamlet tonite…?
Watching weather in historic places is my dream. The Swiss Alps, major parks in the US, and hey, my neighborhood. I love, LOVE, clouds and sunsets.
Aloha, Christine…! Sounds like a productive day…!
I don’t like bad weather in the mountains. I have visited them to hike, climb & ski. Sun is my preferred air condition.
sticky — we had no showers but may have a thunderstorm around dawn and then showers tomorrow. hope it clears the air and the humidty lowers.
That’s cool that you can email your neighbors like that…! ;-)
Around the World in Eighty Days, with Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan! Hilarious.
It’s sticky here too, the trades seemed to have taken the day off…! ;-)
Hi Chrissie is OK anytime, but a perfect song for underpaid work force.
Man, I cooked like a crazy woman. Perhaps?
So Chan is Passpartout?(sp?) Chrissie singing about Akron…
My city was gone…
They are 0.8 miles away by road but prolly less than half mile away as the bee flies (there are other closer neighbors but I’m speaking of the ones I am friendliest with).
If the air is still I can overhear a lot of what is going on at their house. I’m downhill from them. Their dogs don’t bark much, but their cock crows enough to drive me nuts.
Yesterday we canned tomatoes, Noa & her MIL. I knew when they would be arriving because I heard their screen door slam shut when Jane picked up Noa.
Aloha, bb…! I’ve always been a big fan of hers…! ;-)
What did you make.
Gazpacho & venison pate are my food project for this coming week.
I looked at a few gazpacho recipes and decided the key is to throw the vegies you have on hand into the blender.
And I was so happy to the new Pope leading a peace movement against attacking Syria. My neighbor is having his 89th this week, his mom was 103 in the same house built in 1932. One of the very nice local pastors has adopted him and they come and clean and look after him. So sweet.Ans it was a good day to jog 6 miles since it has been 36 years so I am back on the chain gang.Happy days.
Happy about pope too.
Anti-religious atheist by conviction but pro-good forces on earth wherever they come from.
Jogging 6 miles. You deserve a medal!
The new Pope is certainly a marked improvement over Ratzinger and others…!
Buying another bag of said sack potatoes, I made two styles of potato salad. One with mayo and one with chicken broth and onions. Chicken to die for, and carrots with horseradish ad onions.
Speaking of deserving a medal, Diana Nyad (not her original name) finally completed the 110 mile swim from Cuba to Florida, age 64.
With a name like that…
Wonder if our Prez understands what he is asking for us?
Did you eat all that food, or is there some way to preserve it?
Never thought of horseradish with carrots. Carrots are generally not my thing. I don’t dislike them and use them in many dishes, but not as a stand-alone vegie. Prepped with horseradish might do the trick.
Fogg’s valet Passepartout…! ;-)
Don’t get me wrong…
I’m not a big fan of cooked carrots either…!
On Pope post, someone pointed out that Frankie made it more difficult to report sex crimes and we were dupes to be taken in by him.
Giving credence to his criticism, I asked: Francis or Benedict?
Seems to be an added comment since I was there, about a missing comma.
Well, whatever, Frankie seems like a much needed voice for the better.
It is a simple recipe, that everyone loves. Even carrot haters!
Sorry CT, I’m too stupid.
So Jackie is Passepartout…?
I don’t know. At all. This worries me, but I’m going to bed.
I did make an awesome carrot puree one year, forget the spice and too tired to go downstairs & find it. However, got tired of it after the first time & haven’t made it again.
On edit: spice was cardamon, and one review I just found says it accurately: a little goes a long way.
Sweet dreams, Christine…! *g*
Going to turn in myself G’nite all.
Sweet dreams, eCAHN…!
Day after Day…
Thin line between love and hate…
