Former JPMorgan Chase employee Bruno Iksil will not be prosecuted by the Justice Department, the Wall Street Journal reports, citing a person close to the situation. Iksil is the so-called “London Whale” at the center of the trading scandal that lost JPMorgan, the country’s biggest bank by assets, some $6.2 billion in 2012.
If the government isn’t careful we might start to suspect a double-standard.
Or is it a triple-standard?
In response to the information released by Edward Snowden and resulting public outrage, President Obama has decided to set up an intelligence review panel to assuage fears that the government is abusing its surveillance authority. Unfortunately Obama has chosen General James Clapper, who misled Congress under oath about the NSA, to set up the panel.
