FDL Movie Night: What’s In Your Queue?

I admit, the last movie I saw in a theater was White House Down, which was a lot better than I thought it would be. It was non-partisan, with Jamie Foxx playing the nicotine-addicted president who was a fan of  Republican Abraham Lincoln. There were passing references to the military-industrial complex being Evil, but no party was fingered as being the Bad Guy. I won’t give away any spoilers, should you decide to watch it, and I recommend it as popcorn movie.

Lately I’ve been watching a lot of classic movies on cable. I again watched Casablanca, High Sierra, Dark Passage, and for the first time, All Though the Night (an awesome Bogart movie, very funny mix of spies and New York cafe society, with Bogey playing a “producer” who is basically a crime boss. But he still loves his mom!). And I couldn’t get enough of Douglas Sirk, either, watching Imitation of Life and Written on the Wind.

I have a list of movies I’d like to see on the big screen, topped by: Blue Jasmine and Only God Forgives (with Ryan Gosling, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn who directed Gosling in Drive).

TiVo’d up, I have PetuliaDarling, RainMachete, and I Love You, Alice B. Toklas. What have you seen? What movies are you looking forward to?
