Emerson Lake & Palmer – Lucky Man
I certainly feel like a lucky man these days…!
What’s on your mind tonite…?
Aloha, lln pups…! Karn Evil 9…
I am a lucky “man”, in so many ways, too!
Hey, CT, any special events at the family reunion today? Some of us are living vicariously through your family runion! Would love to get all my people together. We got a big turnout for my dad’s 90th and just the offspring for his 95th….. but I love hearing about family gatherings!
Aloha, Christine…! How’s Cleveland tonite…? Did you ever visit the Volcano Winery…?
We are watching Rachel’s show on tape, with Eliott Spitzer and Ezra. I have to confess, I hope ES rises to the top again. He KNOWS where the bodies are buried.
Aloha, Dearie…! We had a great time sampling the various wines today…! ;-)
If you ever make it back here, it is a great little trip to do…! My fave was more of a mead than a wine, made with Mac nut honey…!
Fanfare For the Common Man…
Take A Pebble…
Seven virgins and a mule, keep it cool, keep it cool…
Here’s the Volcano winery website, the Better Half was smitten with the Hawaiian Guava-Grape wine, and my Sis liked the Volcano Blush and the Symphony Dry wines…!
Aloha, EV…! Always a pleasure to see ya at lln…!
Still You Turn Me On…
And a hola to you as well, CT.
Funny to think of ELP lyrics as prescient of the relationship of the U.S. to Israel.
(The auto-seek function doesn’t seem to be working, the particularly relevant part starts at 4:00)
Which ELP tune are ya referring to, EV…? I’m well aware of our incestuous relationship with AIPAC and Israel…!
Touch and Go…
“Seven virgins and a mule” => “fellate a donkey for Israel”
(Karn Evil 9)
C’est la vie…
Aah, ‘I see’ said the blind mouse to the deaf mouse…! ;-)
Aloha, PPD…! How’s your bay doing tonite…?
Monterey Bay is fine, thanks. How’s everything in paradise tonight?
Pleasant dreams, PPD…!
Well, I shall bow out for the night, mahalo for the company…! I hope to see y’all on Suz’s lln tomorrow…!
Aloha Oe…! *g*
When in NYC, in circa 1969, my entourage and I were making some club rounds. Oh, how I date myself. One hole in the wall venue stop had ‘The Nice’: Keith Emerson et al of that time, precursor to ELP. Their music was compelling, but even more so their Histrionics.
One of their entourage, in a room of rest, after we had exchanged musical views, offered me a substance of some questionable repute. What could I say?
Later that evening, or was it that week, it is all foggy in the memory, we saw Blood Sweat and Tears. Again, a compelling presentation.
Not as much a hole in the wall, but we did make contact with them, my entourage had some musical bona fides, itself, to be expressed, if not performed thereof.
But the real, as in ultimate musical experience, came when we found Wayne Shorter and quartet in a space with no stage, no sound system, no tables or chairs, only some pillows on the floor.
There was an experience.
Today, Wayne continues to front a quartet which is now described by more than a few, as the greatest quartet, ever. Period.
I’ll buy that.
