US3 — Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia).
What’s on your mind?
g’evening pups — i just love this fusion of jazz and rap…
not another zed?
I’ve got 6 hours of on site interviews (8 people) a week from Friday (July 12).
All 8 people have been listed, I can check out what their expertise is ahead of time to help prepare.
Hi, Suz. All’s quiet on the south coast…. heavy foggish cover. Quiet. Nice.
hey wmd — i beat ya to it :) i am so stoked for ya dood. gotta feel good knowing that you are prepped for that on site… how much time are you spending studying?
hey dearie — i love those quiet foggy days and nites at the coast — totally jealous. it finally cooled off here today :) right now it is cooler than the official low for the past 3 nights :) marine influence is a good thing
how did ya spend your day?
Go, go, go! I’m sure you will do wonderfully. Best to you!
Hiya! Up too late, but watching “Midnight in Paris.” I can’t quit it…
I’ll probably do about 10 hours between now and then.
Quiet day at home setting up work with the gals on the phone. Nice walk in the late afternoon with my walking partner. Just taking it day by day. Semi-Retirement is grand!
And doing some Continuing Ed requirements on line. Some wonderful one hour interviews with noted lawyers provided by California Lawyer. I’m saving up the Scalia one for later!
cantalope island by herbie hancock is what the featured song riffs from…
hiya ce — how was your day?
fingers and toes dood
i’m still in need of a walking partner. i’m a horrible procrastinator and need someone to show up on my door and nag me until i get off my ass and walk. token doesn’t nag and is happy just going to the mailbox and garbage cans :)
Any body got plans for independence day? I’m going to put holes in paper tomorrow afternoon with my motorcycle club. Haven’t been to a range for a while, but it seems like an appropriate activity for the holiday.
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! I hope all is well with all…!;-)
Just fine and dandy. We waited for rain that never came, but came home to sunshine and beautiful weather. Out on the deck until almost 10:00 pm. The whole yard was alight with fireflies, amazing!
I’ve been exercising a lot lately. I’ve swam 15,400 yards in the past 7 days – that’s 8.75 miles.
i’m staying home and will be hosting lln
I get it! I’ve been running/walking since the 1970s…. but always with someone I’m committed to! I need that sense of responsibility…. shame, really, that I just can’t to do it for my own self. My dear partner and I never let each other down…. if she doesn’t feel like doing it, she’ll do it for me; if I’m tired and lazy, I’ll do it for her. That’s kept us going for 15+ years!
aloha tut — how’s the family reunion going?
how wonderful! that deck is cutting into your movie watching time — you should put in an outdoor setup so you can watch on the deck
wow! prepping body and mind for that onsite… you are gonna be at optimum dood
And my condolences on your Gov. I’ve expressed my sadness to all my friends in TX, Ohio, and now North Carolina. Women are going to have to stand up….. again!
its tough being in a new town and semi housebound. don’t really know anyone other than immediate neighbors. this is an older neighborhood and there’s not a walking partner on the block.
I understand that. Are you now mobile enough to really explore your new town? I admire my daughters in that they are happy to just go out and run some miles or hike for an hour. I could never do that.
My pals and I are not ecologically sound, of course. My pal drove the 4 miles to my house for years, and now I drive the 7 miles to her house since her recent move. But we love the time we get to catch up on chatting while keeping our heart rates up.
OMG! It’s SO good.
I’m planning on it. 6 hours is a long time to be selling oneself. I plan on taking some notes – both questions to ask and points to make sure I get across. Knowing people’s roles should give me some insight into what I need to bring for each interviewer. There’s a bit of a line though – I want to look prepared, too much could come across creepy.
jen’s working 32 hours a week now and is about a 40 to 45 min drive away depending on traffic. i am mobile enough that i wanna try walking futher but its hard to do solo esp since i’m skittish about overdoing or falling etc.
Posting here really feels like déja vu.
Love that movie, CE!
hey loohoo — so glad you like it! how’s socal tonight?
Think I saw Neil drive by Alice’s Restaurant today – at least a ’53 Cadilac convertible drove by headed towards his ranch.
could very well be him…. not many old caddy convertibles in the mts round there
Wow! Impressive. Good for you and your walking partner.
neil’s got a lincvolt too
I’m going to get some sleep. I’ll be sure to come around after the 12th with an assessment of how it went.
good night all.
I want to live in France. To quote an old New Yorker cartoon, “I’m a different person in France.”
Kinda cool here tonight. Never did feel the big heat wave here on the coast.
We are furious.
keep us posted dood — happy dreams
Passes over the good stuff …*cough* herrrrre….
Herbie, Dave, Pat, n Jack
felt it bad up here on the columbia river — got to test out my window a/c unit in the bedroom — i need a better fan to get that cool air into the livingroom. token was very glad to have gotten his summer crew cut before the heat hit
hey talcot — ooooo that is smooth – hardly coughed at all :) how ya doing tonight? oh yeah, the tune is smooth too *laughing*
We are laughing!
Totally loving it, Suz…! My Sis and I are catching up on old times and laughing at all our trials and tribulations…! ;-)
Just took a break to fold a load of laundry.
Oh, yes. And I feel like I found myself the two times I was in Italy.
I wonder if I go back …. should I wear a Nobama! tee shirt?!
yay! ya’ll are all together for what, two weeks?
hang up your hangups
She’s here on the Big Isle for the next month, but, I’ll be back in Hilo after my 2 week vacation…!
Canes and big smiles! Don’t you wish we really could live in Europe.
sweet… i’m sure everyone is having a blast
Even when I was a kid, CE, I just loved the idea of Italy. Don’t know why. I grew up in a family of Germans and Danes who spoke of “Eye-talians” with a bit of disdain, but I just loved the idea of Italy and chose my college because I could study Italian.
Didn’t make it to Italy for decades, but when I finally did get there it was divine. I just felt like I belonged. So, yes, I’d love to live quietly in Italy.
herbie and chick corea
I just kind of despair that USA/USA/USA is making us USAians not so welcome on the Continent anymore…..not to mention in South America!
i’ve always wanted to go the ireland… and scotland – hell, i wanna do the entire british isles…
my 85 (or 86) year old stepdad says that this country is starting to feel like when hungary fell to the communists
You will love every inch of Ireland and Scotland.
i know…. but my retirement is guaranteeing that my travels will be of the teevee watching kind – i only get cola when ss does so its not keeping up with inflation at all.
Wow. My own 95 year old dad is such a Republican that he won’t comment. I think he refuses to acknowledge that today’s Republicans are yesterday’s Dixiecrats. He just refuses! I’m always amazed at how many, many people do not get who today’s Republicans really are. Ah, well…..
i think the idea that our gov’t is spying on us has shocked a lotta older folks. they all remember the red scare and how we were told the communists spied on everyone and folks were required to spy on (and turn in) their friends and coworkers and family members… its hitting a lotta buttons
I hope people are really listening/learning. I’m still hearing too much of “well, if I’m not doing anything wrong, what do I care?”…. and too much of, “well, everyone knew they were collecting all this stuff.” No and no!
But, hey, I’m old. I keep thinking I should just lay low. But I really want to march and carry a pitchfork!
Didn’t know your sis was there. Have fun!
Forgot my manners: Hi, NSA Geek. How’s it going tonight? Proud of yourself?
me too but i gotta be able to walk futher to be able to march…
*turning and giving our NSA monitors the traditional one finger salute*
I love Italy too. About the same latitude as where I am, so I really feel at home climate-wise. Just the opposite in terms of history though. Everything here is new, and everything there is ancient.
Wonderfully ancient! The first time I got to Italy was for my daughter’s marriage….. 55 of us went to Tuscany and lived in two villas for a week and then traveled around Italy the second week. It was heavenly!
Went back years later for the baptism of the twin boy offspring of that marriage. Fabulous. The boys were baptized in an ancient church in Umbria. There were 16 of us for that adventure.
If I didn’t have children and grandchildren … and brother, sister, father in USA/USA/USA right now, I’d happily move to Italy and just live.
Just a drive by have you heard that the US Posal Service has been photo copying ALL us mail?
time for me to head out pups. thanks for stopping by and letting me spend time with ya.
I saw that. Disgusting. I’m so disappointed in Obama and his ‘transparency’. We are so screwed. And the jerks who ‘contract’ for all the workers are sucking up our tax dollars. Disgusting!!!
Happy dreams, Suzanne…. and all LLNers. Stand firm!
Are you able to split your time? I hear about housing exchanges a lot now.
Nighters, and thanks again
A good thought. I do hear about exchanges…..but I had a neighbor who was set to contract with a ‘lovely’ Brazilian doctor……….but it turned out that the doctor was going to be doing non sanctioned plastic surgery on the various tables in the house. Ouch!
