Garfunkel and Oates — I Don’t Understand Job (NSFW).
What’s on your mind?
happy friday pups!
Happy Friday and now Saturday!
hey ce — got plans for the weekend?
Looks like it may rain and storm much of the weekend. If so, movies! If not, deck sitting with MrCE. I have a book talk in two weeks that was just handed to me, so I’ll have to “book it.”
yuck. its gonna be hot here… we hit 90 in pdx today and its gonna get even worse thru the beginning of next week. i’m gonna stay inside and read until the cooler weather returns
those g&o gals are SO funny!
I just posted two photos of a pre-wedding set up at CMA, on FB. And of course it ended up with comments from iOS from weeks ago. Sorry friends. I’m thinking of going down late today, about 4:30, and taking more photos before the museum closes for the start of the wedding. Can’t believe the excessive cost of a wedding.
hey ks — they are a hoot — this was one of their cleaner songs. so glad ya liked it :) how’s ks tonight?
try uploading the pictures to a new folder to see if that prevents them being with older already commented on photos
I expected as much here, and it is now 66 degrees! So freaky. I know, it is because we just had a new furnace put in and air conditioned the whole house. Serious pay back!
OK, I’ll get MsCE to help me.
it will be hot before ya know it and you will be loving your ac. i’ve had mine on since i got home from jen’s this afternoon — its her bday and i took her bday roses
cooler than average, still super humid. Bracing for the eastern heat-wave creep I expect over the next few days. We got another dose of rain yesterday which makes getting into the fields to cut wheat more difficult.
If farmers aren’t looking to get the wheat cut and sent to market by the end of June, they get real nervous. Too much later and returns diminish due to mold, and rot etc. If Field gets too wet, you can’t drive a combine into it… lower yields without a farm bill passed this year and they get very itchy.
lower crop yields also, in turn can drive up US trade imbalances etc….
yer a good mom!
Except for one late night rain, we’ve spent every night on the deck until after dark, watching a new nest of robins feed, and the plants grow. Like a new summer room in nature. Oh, and NO television until late Rachel.
twitchy farmers are not a good thing…. what’s the weather dood say?
i sure am — got her two dozen — one doz orange with a yellow undertone and the second was cream with a hint of orange in the center of the buds. she loved them. got to see my grandbaby who is calling me baba or at least that is what it sounds like when she tries to say gramma
the skeeters would eat me alive if i were to do that. i’ve always been their favorite flavor ever since i was a teen
sunny all weekend, so it will busy as heck for them, if they can get in the fields. But more rain, T-storms expected tues-wed
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! I’d posted this on fatster’s roundup, but, I just had to share it here too… Today, Jeremy Scahill and Glennzilla addressed the Socialist confab in Chi-town…! Glenn Greenwald Speaks Out…
that sounds nice
oh dear…. no day of rest for sure when trying to beat the rains when harvesting… i hope they can get into the field
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? wasn’t that wonderful!
Yo Gramma, how’s little one? We’ve got another one of those grand babies comin in December, the youngest starts her PhD work at VaTech in August, her sister (who is pregnant) just defended her Masters thesis and son is redoin’ his bathroom while writin’ curriculum for his baccalaureate AP English program and “The Mom” and I are just tryin ta make it to Xmas so we ken start takin care of kids again…the world goes on in spite of ourselves I guess.
Things are turnin’ and our kids are gunna hafta do some heavy liftin’ in the next couple a decades but we won’t be there ta reap the rewards or tornadoes in December.
KEEP THE FAITH BUT PASS THE AMMUNITION, THE FASCISTS WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US!
norske! how the hell ya been ya old fart! ohmystars another grandbaby — how wonderful! how’s the fishing been?
Hi! Thanks, it is a blissful remove from all MSNBC all the time all winter.
Glennzilla kicks ass…! I liked Jeremy’s quip about the ‘Caviar Correspondents’ too…! ;-)
Norske! great to see ya!
oooh, gotta watch that!
Right on, Norske…! *g*
Oh wow! So great to see you after so long. Lovely news from your family.
Just got back this week from a week on Lake of the Woods…fishin’ was “interesting”…we caught fish and they were all bigger’n usual. Boated a 42+ inch musky, several Northern (Pike) over 10 pounds and ate Walleye until we sprouted gills…3 Walleye 4-5 lbs. Better get up there, it might be the last unprotected wilderness left in North America and it won’t be there long.
hell no — you got skeeters that would feast on me 24/7 up there — big ones *laughing*
so catching bigger fish is bad?
G’nite Firepups…and a mighty roar to all our gay brothers and sisters and just remember what got you to this moment and keep on keepin’ on, nothin’ good will happen without you folks.
happy dreams norske
Pleasant dreams, Comrade…!
ROFLMAO…I saw a skeeter swallow a bird and my son got a tourniquet out after I splashed a 2 pounder on my arm…he thought I was bleedin ta death!
hahahahaha i don’t ever wanna meet a 2 pounder dood – even if your son is around for emergency first aid
“…so cathing bigger fish is bad?”
I don’t know because this Spring has been so weird that it doesn’t look like many of the game fish had much of a spawn and the increasing water temps are threatenin’ fish like Walleye who need specific temp ranges to hold for certain periods and if they don’t get it done soon enough then rough fish like Largemouth Bass will destroy the beds. I just don’t know but we’ve been goin’ up every year (sometimes twice) for 15 years and I’ve never seen it like this.
weathers been fucked up all over dood — i talk with folks from all over this land 5 nights a week here and it is outta whack. our norms are no more
Funny, how the Zimmerman trial is pre-empting all of the 24/7 news on MSNBC, CNN, etc…! Where’s the NSA reporting or the ‘historic’ Heatwave, etc…? 8-(
My eldest is flying out of Toledo in the morning, headed to Maui, and will meet up with us all on the Fourth…! Meanwhile my Sis is on the Big Isle and I’ll be heading down to Punalu’u, to meet up with her(and Bil) on Sunday…! It’s going to be a big 2 week Family Reunion…! ;-)
lets get a fish on
woohoo!!! gonna be a big party tut — whatcha gonna cook?
I’d seen a recent report of an elderly lady reeling in the biggest Muskie on record, a 47 pounder, all by her lonesome…! ;-)
Sounds so fun! Love to all family.
happy dreams ce
My Mom has it so micro-managed, that we all have our cooking assignments, with food(s) that we’ve had weeks to peruse and reply back, even with possible events…! From, I kid you not, Sky-diving, Para-sailing, Ziplining, Kayaking(which I’ll do), Volcano Winery tour, Golfing, etc…! We’ve yet to decide which and when, on the events, but the food is all set…! ;-)
Sweet dreams, Christine…!
CT, that all sounds great! We will have a fam reunion in July, so I can look fwd to that.
How do you get around, between isles out there? Mostly small planes or ferry?
so what are you fixing?
Mostly some Hawaiian fare like Kalua and Cabbage, Lomi Salmon, etc., but I’m also doing a whole shoulder of pork for my Son’s grad party…! But, I also know I’ll be recruited daily to assist…! ;-)
yummy! its gonna be a great party dood
i don’t think there are ferries…. ya have to fly
It’s all by jet aircraft, you have to really seek out a propeller driven plane, and, we have no real passenger ferry service…! 8-(
tis about time for me to head out pups. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight
g’nite and happy dreams
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
Good morning, pups. Today we have Blow, Nocera and Collins. In “The Zimmerman Trial” Mr. Blow says the case spins on some crucial questions, some of which may never be completely answered. Mr. Nocera has a question in “Cultural Revolution Vigilantes:” Why would a memoir about growing up in China spawn such hate? Ms. Collins says we should “Expect the Unexpected!” She says there’s nothing like a surprise! This week, the U.S. Senate actually passed something and liberal Democrats in Texas won a huge political victory.
Here they are, and
here’s Krugman’s blog.
The coffee, tea and cold drinks are ready, and I’ve got apricot scones this morning. I picked up a lot of work yesterday that I’ve got to get done this weekend, so I’m heading off to do that. And, of course, have some more tea. Have a great day.
Garfunkel and Oates are wonderful duo. Thanks for sharing them with us.
hey lisab — glad you liked them
