Robert Earl Keen — Feeling Good Again, at Strawberry Music Festival, May 20, 2012.
What’s on your mind?
Hiya! Temps in the high 50′s and I’m cold.
Feels like Hilo!
hiya ce — tis still 68 here and i’m ready for some cooler temps — at least at night :) how was your day?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! Shall we collectively give the NSA our customary greetings…? ;-)
It was so good to see Glenn Greenwald getting serious face time on CNN when I was at the gym this evening. That man is a national treasure.
USA! USA! USA!
Aloha, Christine…! It was a gorgeous day here, in Hilo…! ;-)
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight?
*turning and giving NSA the traditional one finger salute*
Ron had an angiogram today. He needed 3 stints. He is doing fine and looks much better.
When it rains.
hey blue — how was your day today?
well fuck (((senator and ron)))
*heh* I hope Suz serves up some special Brownies for ‘em too, bw…! ;-)
It was okay — tomorrow’s the last day of the term, so we have class parties. It’s a little odd having class parties in the morning, but it’s a nice way to end the term. No adult school this summer; will apply for unemployment.
perfect weather yesterday — horrible today.
Well, I just want them to know how patriotic we are here at the Lake…
* Cocks head ever so slightly *
Brownies? Did you say brownies?
Best healing vibes for Ron…! *g*
i’m gonna need to get some of that extra strength ‘chocolate’
Oh! My hope for the best.
yay and *sigh*
Its funny. This last bit of drama cleared the air. The pending move seems like small potatoes.
not those kinda brownies… the special ones. i use only the strongest exlax brand chocolate i can find
My best wishes as well, Mary.
We might be moving to Jackson or Pioneer. We found a great house in Pioneer but it is huge and will be expensive to heat.
Ah, so you really did mean chocolate.
tis the downside to going up there…. the higher in elevation the more heating ya need in the winter.
As a Hispanic waitress at a local coffee shop once observed, “Hasta la bye-bye.”
well the forkers at the nsa deserve the finest yanno
As I said, we’re true patriots here at the Lake. Wishing them systems fully cleansed and irrigated, especially if someone’s already using the bathroom.
i have no idea how the door handles on that ubiquitous white van got glued shut after the brownie delivery.
Most definitely, Suz, gotta keep’em hopping…! ;-)
Sweet dreams, CE…!
Anyone else thoroughly unsurprised by the NSA revelations?
Search me. The glue on my hands is just from the Revell model drone I was patriotically assembling.
Super duper special brownies.
hey rond — how ya doing tonight? did that tropical storm impact ya?
Why — I had no idea. To think that the government of the United States, the fairest, freest, most patriotic, most peace-loving, most privacy-respecting, most human-rights-championing…This is such a shock. Yes, it is, it’s a shock. Next thing you’ll be telling me that sewer rats live in sewers.
*heh* Complete with hellfires, bw…? ;-)
*laughing* dammit, poor token is giving me that ‘my hoomin is crazy’ look
Wow. Best wishes to you both.
Is there a way to close part of the house off so you don’t have to heat the whole thing?
hey loohoo — how’s socal tonight?
And the thing of it is, if they’re trapping everything, isn’t that the same as trapping nothing? I mean it’s too huge to deal with, no?
But of course. Anything less would be unpatriotic and open me to suspicion of being a terrorist sympathizer.
doing very well, Suz. It’s windy but beautiful here in ps. How is the bum leg coming along?
the leg is not happy with the higher temps so there is a bit more swelling. otherwise, its about the same, thanks
..and open me to suspicion of being a terrorist sympathizer.
*heh* You and I, both, bw…! ;-)
we will all be sitting on the group w bench
Have you fired up that new AC unit, Suz…?
Mother-rapers…father-stabbers…father-rapers! Right there on the Group W bench!
Ya know that I’ve got your six, Suz…! ;-)
yeah… its a small unit but it has gotten the bedroom to cool down in the hottest part of the day – i’ve been 81 in the shade most of this week. i wanna see how bad my electric bill goes up as a result of using it before the really hot happens.
Loo Hoo, I was thinking the same thing. All data does not have the same value. It’s possible they’re Hoovering up so much that it on’t matter.
The rooms are few but big so am not sure. We would like to spend a little less money. Rents are soaring in NorCal. It is even bad in Sac. People are being pushed east into the mountains.
Oy yeah, the bilk of the storm went right over me. Not too bad, ‘cept for the tornadoes bouncing around. Had one pass ahout 5 miles away last night.
yikes! i saw the tornado warnings on twitter last night and turned over to the weather channel. you guys got drenched!
‘Xactly, Ron…! We don’t have the resources to ‘digest’ all those Terra Bytes of mumbo-jumbo, generated hourly, much-less, daily by the unwashed masses…! I swear my Better Half alone generates a sheer Terra Byte, a day…! ;-)
i saw the ISS glide silently (but brightly) by in the sky tonight
was way cool to watch but got me thinking about all the secret spy satellites in the skies and how easily they see so very much
Ooh, so ya caught it tonite, Suz…! ;-)
yup — was worried since it was still pretty light out when it flew by starting at 936 tonight but no problems seeing it at all. my stars it was the brightest thing in the sky
international space station
I was sitting in my living room programming a laser when the alarm went off. Man, what a sick feeling, sitting here at 4am, watching a radar image of a tornado headed straight for you, with it pitch dark and storming. There are no underground shelters in this part of FL; hell, you can’t even build a basement. Florida tornadoes-they’re never very big, but we do get a fair number of them. Had one jump right over the house some years back-the whole house whistled like a tea kettle.
Ack, I just figured it out. Ordinarily am good at decoding acronyms.
The International Space Station, bw…! ;-)
jeebus rond — wtf do ya do when the sirens go off?
Bend over…? ;-)
it flew over at 1030 last night and i missed it so i was whining on the thread last night. its on a pattern where we will see it tomorrow night and sat night according to the local weather doods — tonight i discovered they are pretty good about tweeting reminders when its about to come over pdx
well duh *laughing* besides that
Chant, “Tornado, tornado, go away, come again some other day”?
For us to see it here in LA, it would need to have more lights on it than a movie premiere at Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
Like the sun in the west, I’m slowly sinking, guys. Thanks for the colloquy.
Closets. Bathrooms. I knew a family once who survived in a driveway culvert while the tornado destroyed their house.
Pleasant dreams, bw…!
it was pretty forking bright blue — but city light pollution is horrible. i really got spoiled at the coast but then i was fogged in or clouded over so for so many celestial events during my time there
gives me the shivers just thinking about it
Any low-lying, rigid-sided locale…!
i would be leary of a culvert due to all the rainfall. that family of 8 was swept away in el reno last week doing that and only one survived iirc
token is doing his little dance by the front door so i guess i had better take him out. thank you for stopping by tonight — hope to see ya tomorrow night for muppets
I would be too, but I accept the possibility that speed may dictate. The closest I’ve ever been to a tornado was that one that jumped over our house. They say it sounds like a train-but that always suggested a directionality that was absent in real life. There was no sense of direction-this roar just appeared, everywhere, all at once, and in a second the whole house was whistling-and I had no idea even which way to run.
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
