Grand Funk Railroad — Some Kind of Wonderful.
What’s on your mind?
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! Killah clip, Suz…! ;-)
happy tuesday pups!
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? so glad ya liked it — i thought it rocked hard
It’s was a glorious day here, with some steady trades keeping it cool…! ;-)
Btw, Occupy Hilo OLB in solidarity with Boston…! ;-)
that’s very touching tut…
My husband just had a collision with an 11 or 12 foot alligator. He said it stretched across the road, don’t know if it was one or two lanes.
Only in Florida.
hey tuez — ohmystars. hubby is ok?
Hubby is fine, just jacked up. The thing was tall enough, standing up walking, that it took out the front turn signal on the F-150 and bent the bumper back into the tire. Evidently, the truck tore half the snot off the gator. He went back to work to get one of their cameras, so film later, or tomorrow.
wowza. gives me the shivers just thinking about it
Shoes or luggage?
Is there a Gator skin purse, or boots in the near future, tuez…? ;-)
hey nonq — how’s wi tonight?
Oh snap…! Whatcha imbibing, nq…? ;-)
Despite how gators are depicted, they are jet black, so you can’t see them at night. He thinks he killed it since half the snot is missing, although it could just be stunned. He did say it managed to get off the road into the grass, while he was gone getting a camera.
He was taking an alternative route home because the entrance to I4 was closed, probably due to an accident.
Naturally, every time I get to thinking he really needs to turn in the gas guzzler for something more efficient, something like this happens. This would have torn up a Honda. Sigh.
I’m fine and hope you are the same.
Second day of spring weather today, was outside sowing seed in teh garden. Peas, chard, spinach, arugula, radishes and part of a small test plot of wheat.
could have been a very bad ending…. are gators on the roads a year round problem or just during mating season? i have no gater knowledge
He said if it were smaller he might have thrown it in the truck for some gator tail/meat but too big to mess with. You also have to have a permit/license to legally kill them. Not sure how picking up road kill works.
No shoes for me.
Yes, it’s mating season so they are out and about and more aggressive than normal. Maybe aggressive isn’t the right word, more energetic. So human-gator confrontations are not unusual.
hey tuez — bfl sent me email saying he got a new email address and would like for you to have it. is it ok for me to email ya with it?
i dunno — standing up to an approaching pickup truck sounds pretty aggressive to me
I can very clearly hear the truck with the fucked up bumper pulling in.
Hot tea of the sleep induction type. Thank you. I figured I needed to type quickly with that response.
White tailed deer are the seasonal nemesis here. Tall enough to come through the windshield. The only one I ever hit ran into my car, cleanly destroying only the passenger side rear door, nothing else.
Yes, I’ve been wondering what happened to him. Please do send it.
that doesn’t sound good…..
sent it off to ya
Oh kewl, I told BFL to email ya, Suz…! ;-)
sweet! he’s had to start work earlier so hasn’t been around for lln due to having to get up at oh dark hundred
Some chamomile tea coming atcha, nq…! Pigs and cattle are the only thing around here to hit…! ;-)
We chat about lln on FB alot…! ;-)
i know a lotta pups keep in touch on facebook. i’ve been trying to plan a drive up to seattle to see funny d and my buddy dana — that’s gonna be the first real test of how my leg does with driving distances. its about 3 hours each way
Thanks got it BFL addy.
Hubby said he hit gator at 65 mph. And it’s jaws were wide open. Unfortunately, the camera he went back and borrowed is film. Pics much later. He’s gonna fix bumper by chaining truck to tree and pulling. He’s lucky he didn’t flip the truck.
…but too big to mess with.
I wouldn’t hazard going after it neither…! ;-)
Glad to hear he’s OK. Your hubby that is.
As soon as I have pics will download. Should be interesting.
he’s the first person i’ve heard of that ran into a gator…. i’m gonna have to tell steph about this for sure
sorry to be fading so early tonight pups. thank you for stopping by and spending a wee bit of time here.
Have you been able to keep up with any strengthening or rehab exercise, Suz, or is the sitting for that long in the car, using your foot, the thing that will cause discomfort?
