Luna — Voodoo Chile.
What’s on your mind?
happy tuesday pups!
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! That’s a kewl clip, Suz…!
aloha tut — itsn’t it great! pw sent it to me. how’s paradise tonight?
Hola, Suz, nice tuneage! Cross=cultural.
I can’t believe it, but after thinking my allergies were out of control today, I am about to conclude that I have a freaking cold. I have not been sick in years, I don’t think. I have no idea where I could have picked it up.
I hope I can sleep tonight with a stuffed up nose. Or running nose, either one, no good.
hey bg — glad you like it and oh noz! have you tried steaming in the shower?
hey wmd — how goes the search?
Hey! My hiya message didn’t post. Hey everyone!
Phone screen today, 3 hour interview session coming.
oh noz! That is the truth. Crap. Have not tried the shower, looking for my camera manual, now I see that I have to upload the camera program to my new computer. I have some nice pix from my garden, the tulips are on a roll!
hiya ce — i’ll check the filters. how’s cleveland tonight?
me too, just sneezing my head off, and then what’s up with the runny nose. Really, though, I feel perfectly fine except for the above, so it must be allergies.
It’s looking good for my journey up top, tomorrow nite…! Just chatting on FB with a cohort that’s up there tonite…! ;-)
CCCold! And now RIck Steves is doing Paris this late night.
hey ce — i checked the filters and nothing there. those fuckers at nsa musta scooped it up again
fingers and toes crossed dood
CT & I have been discussing average weight of Samoans on another thread.
Thanks. There’s a lot out there for me right now.
a hot steamy shower can help ya breath easier so that ya can fall asleep. oooo tulips! i heart tulips. i’m going to have to get some bulbs this fall so i can have tulips next spring.
Oh, wishing I was in Paris. I’m so sick of snow and cold here in Cleveland. No flowers, no buds, BUT, plenty of birdsong. That, at least, is wonderful.
And other stuffs, on other threads too, M’dear…! *sheesh*
One of my late winter-early spring occupations is watching Yale courses, recorded in 2008. They seem to take place in the post-Xmas semester & at least two profs have had colds.
paris in the springtime?
hey ecahn — how’s the hudson tonight?
Thanks for looking — I told you that I have a FBI record from 1971…
Down in the Twenties…! ;-)
i got a new birdfeeder last week. my ones at the coast were damaged by winds while i was at jens. today i had my first birds at the feeder :)
Tulips. Yum. Deer dessert.
OTOH, put in 100 daffy bulbs last autumn & they are poking up. Has been cool spring so progress of bulbs is measured in fractions/inch/day.
then be sure to turn and give those fuckers the traditional one finger salute for snagging your hiya
Nothing so outre as average weight of Samoan man, though…
Love that video, Suz! Love the way she cuts loose with her left shoulder. Very pretty tuneage.
Hey, hey everyone!
better than last night for sure
I’m hoping my netti pot can fix everything.
hey loohoo — glad ya liked it. how’s socal tonight?
Did you conclude that there’s an average weight?
Decided to stay indoors today. Sunny, high of 40, but windy. Not in good shape so didn’t want to risk getting chilled.
How’s your leg doing?
What did you do to deserve such an honor? Can you get an embossed copy of Eddy’s 3X5 card?
leg is hanging in. back is forking killing me tonight. i slept 13 hours last night — and i’m achy too. hope i’m not coming down with something. jen and i are doing sushi and a movie fri and then sat is julsie’s 2nd birthday party
Beautiful day here in Encinitas.
How’d she get to be TWO??? Man, time flies.
I think I’ll try to get a few winks. Not feeling well, traveling tomorrow.
What a lively bunch tonight!!!
sweet! socal springs are wonderful!
(((bg))) hope you feel better soon
hey tuez — how’s florida tonight?
I found 5’7″, 192 pounds. CT confirms that Samoans are “large boned.” Startup Samoan airline is charging by the pound for body weight + luggage, 93 cents-$1.06/kilo depending on flight.
See what interesting info you can glean here.
Heh! The May 1971 Moritorium March in DC. I was with a friend who was dealing on campus, his mistake was his father was a federal negotiator, We were jumping in fountains and having a blast.
*heh* Well, Loo Hoo, I’m sure you’ve met a few Samoans in San Diego, eh…? ;-)
Gosh, 2 already. Big paarty planned?
Safe journies, bg…!
small family only. she had a bigger party when they were down in norcal last month visiting jen’s dad and family.
Wish I was there. In 1971 was keeping my nose to biz grindstone.
Oh, I thought Suzanne meant the search for WMD.
Woot, I can fly for $51. Wonder how far that gets you before you get kicked off.
It was amazing. My first political action.
hey blue — how’s lalaland tonight?
NBC online headline: How do you solve a problem like N. Korea?
Florida has decided to be Florida again. I’m tired of the perfect weather for 3 weeks, then winter returning. Since it’s April, one can hope that cycle is broken. Of course, I’ll be loudly bitching about the heat in no time.
Also, a steam vaporizer is good.
Interesting stock chart. Up 235 % since the Tucson shootings.
Hopefully not in the middle of the Pacific.
and the humidity…
another good idea :)
OK. Today was my first day back at school after a week of spring break. It’s amazing how quickly you can lose the habit of waking up to a 6 a.m. alarm clock, and how difficult it is to reacclimate.
Don’t forget the luggage…
bestest thing about being retired was tossing that blasted alarm clock in the garbage
I’m totally stoked that Gnome de Plume had won… ‘I was awarded a CCM (Citation of Cultural Merit) by the American Orchid Society (AOS).’
what great news! i had missed that – thanks tut
My daughter sent me a link to this a week ago or so. It’s totally fine, especially when Luna starts a demure rocking out at about 1:30. (My wife is Korean, so we enjoy stuff like this)
Einstein had a special theory about how hendrix will always be relevant, didn’t he? Or was that relative, that everything is only so good relative to Hendrix
hey strat — how ya doing tonight?
I can’t see that, since I don’t do facebook, but let me see if I uploaded my latest prize to flickr.
bold as love
Find a copy of ” Roots of Hendrix ” and enjoy that as much as I enjoyed this riff. See ya wouldn’t want to be ya”. The skunk
The guzheng is the ancestor of several Asian zither instruments, such as the Japanese koto, the Mongolian yatga, the Korean gayageum, and the Vietnamese đàn tranh.
hey wynota — how ya doing tonight?
I’ve been reading about airlines considering price by weight.
Yup, lots of Samoan football players in these parts.
Just had 2 1/2 inches of rain here in Houston the last hour and a half. We need it.
Slower would be nicer though.
Just finished a book (Nailed: ten christian Myths…) about why there is absolutely no evidence that Jesus actually existed. It was on Amazon for $6.66.
Would have been nice if he had given an alternate explanation for the something that must have happened. I don’t believe in an uncaused effect.
What about gender discrimination?
that’s a lotta rain in a short amount of time but i heard ya’ll need rain.
Congrats on your award. I managed to bloom one of these recently.
Ever since yahoo bought out flickr, I’ve had a hell of a time signing into it. Okay, I know that was about 10 years ago and I have a pro account.
Edit: This was for Tut at 71. Sigh. I’m going to bed.
oooo that’s pretty tuez!
why there is absolutely no evidence that Jesus actually existed. It was on Amazon for $6.66.
Gender discrimination in the airlines?
Best friends have a Samoan SIL. 5’9” 215. He is the youngest of 9 and the “runt.” How about a gender multplier or adjuster? 1.25x for female or something?
Hey all. Severe thunderstorm here in cenral TX. Definately much needed rain.
One of the Yale courses I listened to was NT. Prof is excellent. A lecture or two on historic Jesus. Little is known about him, but his existence does not seem to be in doubt.
If you’re interested in the subject, you might listen to the course. Is state of art in academic research, and prof acknowledges when scholars disagree.
I’m a skeptic, to put it mildly, on what academics claim to know. But that makes my antennae reasonable for BS detecting. Martin passes the test.
I’m atheist, interesting in religion bc it is such a human motivator & so easy to manipulate peeps. Plus, Bible was a required course in college, 50 years ago, and I was interested in how scholarship had changed. A lot!
That’s somewhat of a canard. In civilian passenger airplanes, weight is not much of a limiting factor.
Take the Boing 787 Airframe weight is about 250,000 pounds, a full load of fuel (35,000 gl.)is about 210,000 lbs. A full load of 300 passengers at about 200 pounds average is only 60,000 pounds.
A few heavy passengers is insignificant.
My Houston friend reminds me often that it has a subtropical rain forest climate.
hey oldnslow — how ya been dood?
Samoan startup uses small planes. Short distance or island hopping.
Yes. $6.66. I had to buy it. There was no choice involved. It was compulsory. THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT.
evening, Suzzz — firegods
hey ppd — how’s the monterey bay tonight?
congrats on snagging the happy lucky 99 ppd!!!
Just about back up to speed after sliding the motorcycle into a ditch several weeks ago. Bumps and scraps heal a bit slower in the advanced years. (as you of all people are painfully aware)
My guilty pleasure…
The devil made her do it, too.
ouch! nothing major? just bumps and bruises and scrapes?
Glad you’re feeling better…
hey that guy — how’s the south bay tonight?
Without knowing what airplane they use, I can’t do the math. I suspect that the ratios wouldn’t change.
On the other hand, I remember a singer a couple of years ago (Ayesha?) who insisted on flying her entourage and all the luggage at one time. It didn’t work out well.
In small planes, weight is important for proper distribution and balance.
I don’t really know why I suspect this, but if this price plan will fly in Samoa, It’s a trial balloon for the majors to elevate their surcharges. let’s hope it never gets off the ground.
*heh* Colloquially referred to as the Tita(s)…! Ya don’t piss off the sistahs, it just doesn’t bode well…! ;-)
Cool, neighbor kitty visited and now I’m indulging my guilty pleasure.
Houston is still in Bayou country, eCAHN…!
Bruised pride (ego?) more than anything. Got my first motorcycle in 1977 and had never been down.
Firedog Lake needs more AC/DC on it’s pages. Rock and roll can never be bad…
In my flying days, I was on a small plane or two where weight mattered. Sometimes luggage had to be sent on next flight. You might be right about trial balloon but Samoa seems like a strange place to try first.
hear ya on the bruised ego. there’s always a first time for everything dood — i’m thankful that your first was a minor one
i’ve featured them several times up top that guy — you should do a myfld diary about them and include your favorite one or two vids
Never say never, oldnslow…! ;-)
There was a Red Skelton tube on the sidebar of that Flip Wilson.
Lord, he was a funny guy.
And those old guys never had to say “Fuck” to get a laugh.
Suz, they really are my guilty pleasure, but they’re so solid, and for god’s sake, they’ve sold more records than the fuckin Beatles or Michael Jackson. Pete Townshend wishes he sold as many records.
That’s sayin something. I wouldn’t want to play that stuff all the time but I enjoy the occasional foray into “You Shook Me,” or “The Jack…”
Hey Stratocruiser, are you still working on the Charlie Daniels people or have you given up?
I was never a Red Skelton person. Not saying he wasn’t funny — just never got into him. I worshipped Johnny Carson, though.
I know I’ve featured Angus and the boyz before, TG…!
Hard as a Rock…
plus bagpipes :) altho i supposed that is something that appeals more to me and not you
Funny thing, I NEVER talked about it. Crashing is a frequent topic of conversation among riders. Whenever it came up I remained intentionally silent. Call it superstition. I didn’t want to jinx the streak.
tis about time for me to take token out to save a blade of grass
thank you for stopping by tonight and letting me hang out with ya for a bit
I still foray there. Me and Sisyphus got this boulder to roll.
I like seeing how they respond to truth. But then again, I also like turning the kitchen light on and off to wear out the cockroaches.
G’night Suz – don’t let anyone give you the Jack… >:-D
Saw them several times in the Bon Scott days. Solid show. Every time.
Every couple weeks I go read…but then I get pissed and go away. Man, those people couldn’t put two brain cells together between the bunch of them.
I didn’t want to jinx the streak.
I totally agree, I’m just glad I broke up the streak early on, and been on a roll ever since…! ;-)
Thanks Suz. Good night.
I saw them once with Brian and they blew me up. I expected to sneer at them and came away a HUGE fan.
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
Did not know you are a rider.
I was fortunate. My first and only crash was at about ten MPH two days after i got my Norton 850. I learned crashes hurt less if you go slow.
OK, truth time
There was one time I was slightly drunk and rode up to the main gate, stopped to show my ID and forgot to put my feet down.
The SP laughed and told me to walk it to the barracks.
Can’t get much slower than that.
Tis a shame…! 8-(
Not as much as I would like to be, but, I do know a panhead from a knucklehead…! ;-)
Malcolm and Angus almost packed it in when Scott died. It was Scott’s family that convinced them to carry on. I have always felt that Brian has done a fabulous job under extremely difficult circumstances. Although never really a fan, I recognized that Bon Scott was a hell-of-a front man.
My wipeout was with a Yamaha 850 with a shaft-drive, I didn’t properly account for the shaftdrive dynamics on a curb…! 8-(
My partner rode an 850. Dunstall Dominator. Back in the ’70s she was a cabin crew boss type flight attendant, called stewardess in those days, and one of her co-workers bought it new. Picked it up at the factory. Crashed a few miles away. Factory picked it up and fixed it no charge. He gave it to her. She shipped it home to CA and rode the weat coast for many years.
I’m out also. Good night all.
hiya CT — IE locked up and I missed all the LLN fun. How’s everything in paradise tonight?
Ok. Probably another way to make money.
