Liberace on episode 309 of The Muppet Show – a special Concert For Birds, part one, part two, and part three.
happy friday pups!
Hey, Suz. Are you getting ready for your visitors?
All’s good on my coast…. except that I am so tired of fog and inversion layer and such. I need some real sunshine!
Hey, Suze. Looks like you had visitors today. ; )
Really wanted to stay up and chat but my eyes literally are closing. gotta dhut down and hit the sack before I got k’thud right here.
Have a good evening and Happy Easter, Suzanne and famiily and everybody soon to appear.
hey dearie — my visitors came today and we had mostly sunshine! here’s the only pic — patrick on the left and teddy on the right. i took it at st helens city hall in front of one of the windowboxes that adorned all city buildings. we had a great time!
hey tejan — thanks for stopping by. hoppy easter to you if we don’t cross paths before then
Sweet. Looks like the boys are doing fine. Glad to see that. I’m sure you had an excellent visit.
PS: I’m not a hypocrite. I’m still upset that Teddy bullied some of the troops… badly…. but I “know” him from way back and am glad to see his happy smile. Hope he’ll do the right thing. And I’m glad for you to have had some pals come visit. Nice.
we had lots of fun and good food at the klondike. had a great time talking and before we knew it, it was time for them to head home
i gave him your hug and here’s one back ((((((((dearie)))))))) as i said, they are great hugs!
teddy and patrick were my first official visitors since i moved here.
Cannot stand Liberace, but glad you had a good time with teddy and patrick!
hey loohoo — sorry about that and thank you. how was your day?
Wonderful! As I mentioned before, I remember the picture of Teddy, Nahant, newtonusr, and others from packing-your-POD. Wonderful friendships. Someone mentioned on a thread today that FDL wasn’t a real “community” since people don’t see each other face to face, but face to face is going on all over the country, and support is always shared with those who express a need. I really do love this community.
i’ve been giving thought to some sort of pdx meetup. the warmer weather makes it a good thing. but then i’m also trying to figure out if i can get down to az to see mom too.
lotsa thinking going on
Me too, lotsa thinking going on – trying to see all family and traveling through PA and the rest. And MsCE’s wedding in 2014.
hey ce — how’s cleveland tonight? any plans for the weekend?
hey Suzanne! I’m thinking seafood for the weekend. We don’t celebrate Easter, and I’m due to sit on the main information desk at the Cleveland Museum of Art from 12:30 – 3:00. So maybe I’m thinking shrimp on brochettes with rocket salad, goat cheese and pine nuts?
oh that sounds yummy! i had a wonderful lunch of fish and chips — the fish was wonderful and it was more like a tempura batter. the fries were magnificent – i think they make them there. it was a hard choice between the fish and chips and the shrimp and chips.
My grandtwins are very excited about the bunnies coming. They haven’t had a lot of religious training (though they were baptized in an old, old church in Umbria, and their dad is determined that they will go to Catholic high school)– but they go to a YMCA pre-school right now. They learned from their teacher, “Jesus died; then he came back alive; then he went to heaven.” That’s enough for four year olds. They just want to find some hidden eggs that the bunnies leave on Sunday morning. They’ll try to figure out the connection later. I will try hard, I swear, not to do too much religious history about how the church incorporated pagan stuff. I’ll try!
Oh my favorite — I love fish and chips!
jen’s gonna try an easy egg hunt for julsie in the house and see how she does. she’s still pretty young.
jen sent me this today — she’s focused and concentrating on something for sure so maybe sun’s hunt will go well
I raised my kids in the Church…. first RCC and then Episcopal. But everyone kinda turned out secular anyway. It’ll be interesting to see what my daughter and her husband do with the twins. They haven’t been to church yet, so I’m wildly curious. I drove past the local Catholic church with the boys in the back one Sunday morning. There were several gray habited nuns with the green smocked priest; the boys looked and said, “Wow, power rangers!!!!”
think of me
oh that’s funny!
i think she was maybe watching tv based on the angle of her head and where she was sitting. she loves music videos on tv but is usually dancing when they are on.
she looks all dreamy
think about it
i think i love you
think it over

Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates it in any way.
Happy continuing Passover to everyone who celebrates it in any way.
Happy continuing spring to everyone!
Good morning, pups. Today we have Blow, Collins and Nocera. In “The G.O.P.’s Diversity Deserts” Mr. Blow says too many House Republican districts are isolated in naturally homogeneous areas or gerrymandered ghettos. Mr. Nocera has a question in “The Coach Who Fought Back:” After a decade of litigation, can one man change the N.C.A.A.? Ms. Collins also has a question in “The Attack of the Killer Surplus:” Can a state be too rich for its own good? Well, things are definitely in flux in North Dakota.
As a minor housekeeping matter I wanted to let you know I’ll be quite late tomorrow and probably won’t have anything up until noon or later since I’ll be in choir for the Easter Vigil at 6, followed by breakfast at 8:00 and the 10:00 main service. Of course, if I’m up early enough I’ll pull stuff over before I leave.
Here they are, and
here’s Krugman’s blog.
The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I’ve got your favorite omelet for breakfast. We finally seem to have come out of the unseasonably cold weather we’ve been having, with early morning temps in the mid 30s, thank heaven. It’s 50° this morning, which is more usual for this time of year for us. I may be able to finally get started in the garden next week, without fear of frostbite. Have a great day.
Hooray for singing in the choir.
I remember those Easter mornings where I performed at the sun rise and the two other services. Long mornings, but they sure were fun.
Sing your heart out, Marion. And, enjoy.
sorry i missed you too ncbb – hoppy easter
hippo birdies demi!
