Firepup ThatGuy — Help Me and Honky Tonkin’ In Mississippi — jamming at the Pioneer Saloon January 27, 2013.
What’s on your mind?
happy thursday pups!
Friday here :-)
hey cmauk…. ahhhh that’s what i did wrong … *laughing* how’s friday? its still thursday here on the left coast
Was one my favorite local bands here in Cleveland back in the early 1970s.
ooo that’s pretty.. reminds me of a warm summer night
Well still kind of cold but a bit of a warm up here starting tomorrow but with horrible weather. Rain, sleet and snow – but not in that order.
I like this cut too.
got a winter storm moving through tonight and tomorrow — gonna dump a lotta snow up in the cascades. just rain and wind down here on the valley floor to — a good thing since i’ve got a lunch and a movie date with my oldest daughter jen tomorrow.
The band was called Tiny Alice.
very different from the first….. nice
Had a trip to The West Side Market with a friend for tomorrow but decided to delay unit Sat. when the weather better for driving etc.
this is one of the local groups from my teen years…. lotsa good musicians in the sf bay area at the time
Hi Suzanne, coming by for an unusual late-for-me visit. It’s Thursday though, traditional party night, right? I’m just finishing out the posthumous Frank Zappa album “Everything is Healing Nicely” and thinking about bed. I hope everyone is doing well.
I’m excited about the latest catastrophe: the Sequester! Whatever happens, it should be interesting times, in the full apocryphal “Chinese proverb” sense.
It’s so hard for me to understand the reasoning behind holding back people’s potentials; whatever the reasons, it’s stupid and we’d thrive and feel so much better if we we working together and more of us were working together.
So, Happy Coming Weekend All and let’s keep rolling the stone
is that the famous market ce has talked about in cleveland? is it an indoor market?
Yea had a fairly diverse repertoire. Some new grass, jaz, country, blues.
hey brione — long time no see your fonts! how ya doing?
Yep….it’s very cool. Good fresh meat and veggies and breads…etc.
Very interesting Suz. Reminds me of the stuff my HS Spanish teacher would play over the language lab if the lesson was short.
that’s what ce said. i remember looking at pics of it online — if i ever get to cleveland, i wanna visit it.
So wow! Are you here in Cleveland? Viva the West Side Market!
Hi Suzanne! The WSM has survived a terrible fire and reopened this past Monday. People swarmed it to buy.
I’m doing well. I switched jobs in January to better digs. I got to spend five days with my son’s family during the generous break between jobs and spent a lot of time with my grandson and that was great. My ex is going to visit them, starting Friday and I’m excited about that; lots of Facetime videos and seeing the boy with his grandma and his family and that’s good feelings.
there was a strong latin influence in the sf music scene back then. santana had a lot to do with that fusion of rock and latin… groups like tower of power were playing on my radio right along side malo, santana, the greatful dead, and janis. and, of course, we had bill graham booking acts into filmore and the more eclectic the playbill the better.
hey ce — how was your day?
no…… ohmystars, so good that it survived and has reopened…
If you ever get to Phillie you need to stop here too. The Reading Terminal Farmers Market. It’s very large. Mu grandmother used to shop there when my grandparents lived outside of Phillie in Feasterville Lower Bucks County.
how old is your grandson now? my granddaughter is gonna be 2 in april
Well Garfield Heights actually. Just south of the city a few blocks from Broadway and 20 min from WSM.
And we were just there in December, right after Christmas. I put a few photos on FB when we went to the Barnes Foundation.
a roadtrip across the us is on my bucket list. token and me stopping along the way, visiting all the sites and maybe a few firepups too :) so many places and sites and people to see… no matter what route i picked, i would still miss seeing everything
wanna see all the great lodges of the national parks and, of course, all the national parks. never been to the northeast either
My daughter recently bought a house on west 85th street.
and got engaged…. are you still walking on cloud 9?
Me either. I’ve never been to a great national park, just looked at them on tv.
We haz a state park with a nice Lodge. I and my brother and cousin eat lunch there. But it is very pricy to stay at. Punderson Lodge.
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! Just got home from our weekly GA…!
One block west of where my aunt and uncle and cousins use to live. They lived on West 84th and Dennison.
i was totally captivated by that pbs show great lodges of the national parks and the other one, great lodges of the canadian national parks.
He’s turning one on March 1st. We had a great time together when I was there a month ago.
House first, engagement second, wedding third. Works for me! So sensible, really.
nice… i, unfortunately, have a champagne tastes and not even a beer budget
aloha tut — how’s paradise tonight? how was the ga?
Oh gosh, me too! I sure wished that I had money to visit them.
facetime is a wonderful thing. i’m gonna see mine tomorrow when i pick up her mom for our date. grandbabies sure are time speeder upppers
I drink Verners ginger-ale with grape juice. :-)
The entire island chain is soaked, we’re under a flash flood watch here until the morning…! The GA was great, one of our superstars announced she was going to run for county council…! ;-)
*laughing* i’ve served martinelli’s sparkling apple juice as a non-alcoholic substitute for champagne
wow. we are under a winter weather advisory wtih a wet jet stream aimed right at us. gonna be a lotta snow in the mts
Sweet dreams, Christine…!
*heh* It’s snowing big time up top…! ;-)
they are forecasting feet of snow in the cascades… its been snowing nonstop and is supposed to stay that way until at least sat nite up there
you, Sir or Madame, are one sick puppy. the Pope does not approve. ;-)
hey dyke — how’s texas tonight (am i remembering your location change correctly)?
Bit seriously…or not ….It’s great with cheese coated popcorn.
Looking at the Pacific Sat. map it’s all coming from Alaska, not Hawaii for a change…!
Looks like that stuff that Suz is getting is going to scoot just south of us though.
yup… the last few storms that have come through have been from alaska… after that lovely false spring last week mother nature wanted to remind us that it is still winter
kansas and missouri got hammered for sure – was on my local news tonight
well, Sir. my people are from Detroit. one simply does not mix Vernors with something as foul as grape juice. it just isn’t right. /huffs aristocratically
TX is fun! except, where is this frakking drought i was told about? i hung my freshly warshed laundry out to dry, and it rained. again. it’s like i brought the moisture here they’ve been needing. snow on xmas, rain every other night… clouds follow me everywhere. heh.
Water vapor flash image.
i heard they’ve been needing that rain you so kindly brought down to them….it has been my experience that hanging laundry out to dry is just like washing the car — both guaranteed to bring rain
I hang mine in the basement…OH DEAR !?
My peoples are from Pittsburgh and well….anything goes.
then you are safe. i shudda clarified hanging them out to dry outside…
Good. My landlady would not appreciate rain in the basement.
/watches “Beef” on netflix.
this is quite fascinating. the history of hip hop.
the music industry is filled with evil people, yall. i’ma just sayin.
never a good thing for sure. just don’t go washing your car down there… its a real bitch trying to get it out afterwards with those slippery stairs
sorry for bailing early pups but i gotta get up way before the crack of noon tomorrow. the movie we are seeing starts at 1130 *gasp* so i have to be up way earlier than usual.
thanks for letting me hang out here with ya.
Oh you betcha. Knew a youg lady that wanted to be a singer. Told her better off being a song writer. At least they get to keep their art and the money.
Night Suz. Gonna take me shower and hit the hey as well.
Sweet dreams, Suz…!
CTut, I just saw on the news that they got a foot of snow on Mauna Kea.
Hey y’all, had a late gig call. Hope you enjoyed the music…
Rock on, That Guy! Thanks for sharing.
was wondering where you were dood…. glad to see ya made it but am sorry that i missed ya
