I can probably find more inappropriate music.
OK Suzanne…getting ready to hit the hey, me thinks. But thought I would drop by.
So, we’ve had a bit too much “action” here lately. That Riverside police officer got killed a couple miles from my home. His funeral had helicopters flying around my neighborhood for hours, etc.
Also, this piece blew my mind on a couple of levels:
Update Feb. 13, 2013, 7:30 p.m.:
San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon that the fire was not set on purpose. “We did not intentionally burn down that cabin to get Mr. Dorner out,” McMahon said. However, McMahon said one type of tear gas used was “pyrotechnic” and acknowledged that it “does generate a lot of heat.” McMahon said the fire “erupted” after police launched the pyrotechnic canisters, which are called “burners,” into the cabin. Watch video of the press conference here.
Because of the twitters from Max Blumenthal that are at the original but I can’t figure out how to copy here that absolutely contradict that claim by the Berdoo Sheriffs.
If you look at Blumenthal’s timestamps, they show roughly midnight for stuff that was happening around 5:00 P.M. PST. Yet, somehow he was listening to (perhaps a recording of) a scanner of of local police scanner.
That’s particularly interesting because Max is a friend of a friend, whom I’ve met. And, he’s also a friend of ET and his family. But, most of his recent reporting has been related to the I/P issue. And, last I heard he was in Israel.
Clear, not cold, snow melted and we are in the winter doldrums now. We are all tired of winter coats, boots, gloves, hats and bags of lunch, computer bags, etc., etc. I feel like a moving camper.
Please Release Me
What’re we gonna drink to celebrate ?
*heh* That’s an awfully looong time together, M’dear…! Congratulations are certainly in order, Christine…! *g*

Not watching Hockey, in protest of the lockout. I’ve just been very, very busy. How’s things ?
How about some Louis Bouillot , “Cremant de Bourgogne.” A lovely sparkling wine!
Over or the Dangling conversation.
Inch by inch, foot by foot. Recovery is long and tough. Go for it Suzanne.
It looks like Max totally busted the Berdoo Sherrifs.
The whole thing reminded me of the SLA shootout in LA in 1974. IIRC, I was driving to LA on booty call when that erupted and their house had burned down by the time I arrived. Those “burners” surely will ignite a house if that’s what the cops want to happen. Just like blocking the ambulances in an abundance of caution while a shooter bled to death in the street after the North Hollywood shootout.
Obama and the LAPD: judge, jury, executioner!
dang… that sounds good enought that we are gonna need some hordederves nibbles to snack on
Have some madeira m’dear
I could not, for the life of me, understand why people jumped up and danced to Jessie’s Girl
i thought of that and the philly MOVE house that burnt down an entire city block
Could be doing better, but, at least, I’m enjoying the Oiler’s record, nice to see them in the hunt…! ;-)
That was intended for Petro…!
ohmystars — i’ve not heard that in years.. i love that song
They’re building a great young team. If they all stay put, the Oilers will be incredible in 3-4 years
my local station showed some impressive video of a meteor ‘sploding over russia today…. and that’s NOT the asteroid that’s gonna near miss us tomorrow
… i won’t do that
Uh-oh… Meteorite falls in Russian Urals… Let’s hope that tomorrow’s NEO will indeed miss us…!
You don’t own me.
i’ll take a latte please
*heh* One Latte coming yer way…! ;-)
oh snap… i shudda thought of that one! good one cm!
Double Jinx, even…! ;-)
Matasareanu, the guy who bled to death, his family was represented by a Beverly Hills attorney, Steven Yagman, who made something of a career of suing SoCal PDs for overreach. He won a couple of hundred thousand for friends of mine in two separate local incidents. Ultimately he went to jail for a couple of years on a dubious charge.
:) you know me so well
Oh Dear !
i got recruited by laso and sfrancisco pd…. was glad i worked at an ethical department and had no desire to go elsewhere. especially lala land or the city. it was bad enough my academy was at the oakland pd academy — that convinced me that i had choosen the right department for me

a buddy who was laso and his wife used to live there until he got shot up and was retired out. i visited their place often — was only about a 6 hour drive — i even used their place as my halfway point when driving to see my sister in az until mom moved to palm springs and my friends moved to wisconsin.

They’re certainly stacked to successfully defend their WS title…! ;-)

Sweet dreams, Suz…!
First of all, that Junior Brown piece is dynamite. Thanks.
Yes, it’s a very tough place. Not so badass as Oakland, but Fontana claims to have been the “mother chapter” of the Hells Angels. In fact, you used to be able to see the Hells Angels in the Berdoo phone book under “motorcycle parts.”
In the mid-to-late 70s, I with my very feminist SO went to a local Bo Diddley concert, where a local group whom I knew were playing backup for him. The local chapter of the Hells Angles came casually strolling in with their “women” heeling one pace back and one pace to the left. You can easily imagine how that went over.
*heh* Ya both got out alive, ww…? ;-)
It wasn’t close that night, but I used to play pool at local bars where that excellent backup band played. One time, I took my SO to one of them, and she refused to get out of the car:
You can take me to a black bar, and you can take me to a cowboy bar. But, when I see black cowboys going into a bar, I just know there’s going to be trouble.
