Woof arf arf arf! Phoenix here tonight, with only one thing to say (and it’s not “This piece needs more cowbell”): Have some more Fluffy White Couch Dogs!
Here they are, on Christmas Eve, looking ever so deceptively angelic, taking a break from hitting up their human mom for treats.
Relax, unwind, and tell us what’s on your mind. If you want to give the doggies a good brushing, the wire slicker brushes are kept in the mud room between the garage and the kitchen. (They love brushings almost as much as they love baths — at least the drying-off part — though not quite as much as they like treats.)

More News to Amuse, Bemuse, Confuse, and Light Your Fuse: The governor and Republican legislators in Mississippi think they’re going to set up a Joint Legislative Committee on the Neutralization of Federal Laws, whose purpose is to “stand up for the Tenth Amendment” by blocking enforcement of federal laws like the ACA or any gun safety legislation that they deem “unconstitutional.” Apparently neither the Civil War nor the civil rights era taught these assholes the important lesson that THEY don’t get to decide what is or is not constitutional.

Gen. Ham: US Failed to Train Mali Troops in Ethics
…Gen. Ham says that the US provided considerable training but focused “almost exclusively” on tactics and technical matters, without spending enough time teaching troops that they shouldn’t massacre civilians.
Rights groups have repeatedly reported that Malian troops have captured and summarily executed civilians in frontier cities, targeting ethnicities which are accused of being pro-rebel and capturing anyone without ID cards as “infiltrators.”
Mali’s Justice Minister had cited the US military’s own tortures and executions when presented with evidence last week, saying “no army in the world is perfect.“
Amazing how that didn’t make the front page of either the NYT or WaPo.

They’re Eskimo, which is similar to the German “Spitz” breed.
