AC/DC — Hells Bells, live at River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires, Argentina, December 4, 2009.
What’s on your mind?
g’evening pups.. how ya’ll doing tonigh?
How can we talk about Hell with no mention of the Crazy World of Arthur Brown?
I saw AC/DCs Hells Bells tour and it was a big disappointment. Only lasted about an hour.
hey blue — how ya doing tonight? i forking heart that video dood
Hey pups. Not my kinda music, but that massive crowd totally loved it!
hey tuez — shit, that blows. is it still cold down there?
hey loohoo — how’s socal tonight?
OOOOh, I like it. ACDC is one of my guilty pleasures…
Fortunately it’s warming up.
If I had this commute, I’d quit.
hey thatguy — how ya doing tonight? glad ya liked it dood
holy moly me too!
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! I’m a happy camper with a stay placed on my foreclosure proceedings…! ;-)
Postal Service to reunite!
It is something, isn’t it? Just the thing to warm the heart of your typical Evangelical.
This morning was our court date (four of us, only two of whom showed)– it was just a procedural thing. Our lawyers are trying to do discovery (mainly the video LAPD made of us when we were blocking the street in front of the downtown Federal Building), city attorney’s office didn’t provide the requested stuff, judge told them to provide it.
So I really didn’t need to be there, but I wanted to get the full criminal-justice-system experience.
The city has downgraded the thing from a misdemeanor to an infraction — kinda like a parking ticket — so we can’t even get a jury trial if it goes to trial. I think the next step will be in about a month; it will just be more procedural wrangling.
Champagne all around.
aloha tut *snoopy happy dance* woohoo.. how long of a stay tut?
hey ce — how’s cleveland tonight?
thanks for the update blue. even the procedural stuff nowadays is meant to drag it out and create uncertainty. it used to be used to make sure you had a fair trial…
Bankruptcy proceedings…! *gah*
Needless to say, something that I should’ve started long ago…!
tuez — here’s that commute on a nice day with more detail about the where… lardy there’s no way in hell i would be on that road during a storm or in winter…. *shruddering at the thought of ice*
Wow — beautiful scenery, but I wouldn’t want to have to make that drive either.
Have you considered emailing Cynthia to see if she can give you advice? She is on top of all the bank shenanigans.
A friend of mine, who had to refinance during the 2006 hurricanes, while awaiting insurance to come through for roof repairs, ended up in foreclosure. Turns out the original mortgage had been stamped paid in full and the new mortgage was filed/originated (not sure what he signed at closing). Anyway, in some states, that gets one their house for free.
On edit: New mortgage NEVER filed/originated.
For real? Best of luck…
I figure Norway must have been having a warm spell in that video. I can’t imagine that road is often free of ice with icicles hanging off the bridges in the winter.
I’d need a few Xanax to drive it even in summer.
16 degrees and expecting a few inches of snow by mid morning. Cold but very sunny, and I like that a lot! Did my book talk about McCullough’s ” The Greater Journey” yesterday and had 20 people participate. Great book, wonderful crowd.
It’s not having the effect of creating uncertainty — our lawyers seem pretty sanguine, so we’re feeling sanguine also. It just seems like pare-for-the-course procedural stuff.
A jury trial might have been fun. If it goes to trial, it will be a judge trial. There would still be a possibility of jail time, but usually polite civil-disobedience people — and we were pretty polite (didn’t chain ourselves together with stuff you’d need a bolt-cutter to cut through, e.g.) — don’t pull jail time.
yay! it warmed up here and is currently a balmy 39 outside. token and i were not freezing when he saved his last tree :)
Aargh. This sounds very not fun. All best wishes, CT.
Shetland ponies with cardigan sweaters (jumpers). Lovely!
i hope you don’t get tossed in jail dood….
Give the judge a signed copy of your book. That should smooth over everything :)
That sounds like fun…
what a hoot!
But if he interprets it as a bribe, then it could be crunch time…
Take a case of each to nullify.
City jail not so bad. County jail overcrowded, contagious diseases…
All things being equal, would rather not (and the odds are pretty good will not have to) do jail time. This is a good non-keyboard-commando experience.
It is! We keep watching and laughing.
Can you have judge nullification?
don’t forget to bring some chocolate just in case that’s the preferred peanut butter delivery system…
There’s always a first time and with a sugar high…
jail time sucks. iirc an infraction can not get jail time and is only a fine
“Year of Natural Scotland” and we can’t wait to visit.
I think you’re right. It’s not impossible to get jail time for an infraction, but it would be extremely unusual. I regard this as a learning experience, a way of getting a cursory look at the criminal justice system.
What does that mean? I decided to rent my place out rather than give it back to the bank.
betcha the da is looking at something you plead guilty to and get a fine just so the da gets to keep their conviction rate stats up…. iirc that’s usually why the charge is dropped from a misd to an infraction…
of course, that was in norcal and several years ago….
Dang, thought it was good news about USPS!
Sorry! Just my favorite group since forever.
back in black
oh jeez blue — i don’t think i’ve heard that since the 60′s….
Scroll down for best bassett: (via Margot)
ooo i love how his ears are blowin….
Cute, huh? Whenever I discuss the dangers of pit bulls with pit bull owners, I ask how many kids bassets have killed.
The magic of YouTube…it’s almost impossible to find a song they don’t have.
oh no… the teevee machine says that two buck chuck is going up by 50 cents
two and a half buck chuck
bagpipe rock.. i featued this one up top several years ago
Keeshonden don’t kill either. They just lick you to death.
Or as mine is currently doing, make you say “no” until you wish you were dead (puppies are heathens).
just doesn’t roll off the tongue the way the original did…
maybe if you say it real fast…
Doing OK. Wishing it was warmer…
Did anyone else catch Glennzilla’s Q&A this afternoon? It seems he’s going to be running a regular Q&A for further questions on each months’ columns. Kinda like a book salon, only broader.
if i say it too fast, i sound like i’ve had too much of the chuck
has it warmed up any from what it was earlier in the week?
Here on FDL?
Well, maybe I need to go back to the drawing board on that one.
Why is that necessarily bad?
Depends on your definition of “chuck”.
it really depends on whether or not i’ve got my upper plate in…
No the originals are here, and the synopsis is here.
Yes, he did answer my question. Seems he, too, has the same question.
With me, it’s the lower.
i knew you would understand
HA! I’m going to hafta look up that breed. Oh, SO CUTE!
you shook me
At The Guardian
tell me pups, should i feature this video or not?
Ah, yes, I see, as you and Loo Hoo point out — it’s at the Guardian. Plus, he says you can ask him stuff on Twitter. Am something of a tweep, so that’s good. He spoke at UCLA here 2 or 3 years ago. I asked the first question from the audience.
Only if you pass out LSD or some other hallucinogen, in order that viewers can properly appreciate it.
keep watching.. it just gets … uh more
I’m sorry, Suzanne, but it’s LSD or no dice.
my 78 year old mother sent that to me today
i just don’t know what to say
I’d say your mother has a taste for the surreal.
Well, am starting to fade. Soldier on without me…
They are the best kept secret in the dog world.
Are they fragile?
I’ve whacked her ass. She mocks me.
Since the bloody heathen has gone to bed, I must follow.
time for me to join the exodus myself. thank you for being here tonight
Sorry, ya’ll…! I finally posted a new myFDL diary…! MENA Mashup: Code Pink, Davos, Kerry, and, ‘Reaping The Whirlwind’…
