Jimi Hendrix – All Along The Watchtower [Studio Version]
45 years ago today, Jimi laid down those tracks…! From behind the Glass…
…“There was no real rehearsal,” said producer Eddie Kramer, “Jimi just played a six-string acoustic guitar while Traffic’s Dave Mason played 12-string. Mitch (Mitchell) was on drums. That’s how Jimi wanted to cut it, and as a result the track had a marvelous, light feel thanks to the acoustic guitars that were driving it.”
What’s on your mind tonite…?

The Wind Cries Mary…
aloha tut supposedly this is going to be my last cold night as the rains return tomorrow night. gotta admit, i’m looking forward to the rain
Snowing, snowing! It’s a whiteout! 10 degrees F. Expect it might be 8 by morning. Hiya Pups and CT!
does that mean no work for you tomorrow due to whiteout conditions?
*heh* Be careful of which ya wish for, Suz…! ;-)
I hope all is well in your hamlet…?
Aloha, Christine…! White-outs totally bite…!
Oh no! The snow removal will start in about an hour, and go all through the night. My tax dollars make sure I show up on time!
i’m just ready for the cold to end. days with highs just above freezing are not my cuppa tea
fork
Sure is pretty at this late hour. MrCE and I are standing outside in slippers!
*heh* Any days(or nights) just above or below Freezing totally sux, in my book, Suz…! ;-)
Slippahs…? Good gawd, ya’ll…! ;-)
Heh! We are such OHio nerds.
at least the rain will warm it up… i’m glad that i will not be out in it. it will be prettier to look at through the window than that solid wall of gray fog i’ve been looking at
Love this. He played at a local high school in the late 60′s. I wasn’t old enough to go, but my older brother did. Sigh.
Hey Joe…
The extra blustery Trades have made mincemeat of all the clouds, at all levels of late, it’s certainly mighty nippy in the shade these days…! ;-)
Hi ya pups.
The spousal unit is no longer working massive amounts of OT, so I’ve been hanging out with him when he comes home at night and not with you guys on LLN. Wanted to let you know I’m alive and well and don’t take it personally, okay.
I will not brag to Chris and Suz about the weather here. Okay I will. It’s been perfect. Not just perfect, but forkin’ perfect.
Stone Free…
*heh* I’ll betcha ya been warmer than moi, even, tuez…! ;-)
Well I caved, and suited up in boots, down coat to ankles, and gloves. Ventured out to see the whiteout, take photos and was instantly covered in snow from head to toe. MrCE laughed his ass off at me coming back inside!
Hiya CT, firegourds
Hey! How are you?
*heh* I’m certainly chuckling, CE…! ;-)
Aloha, PPD…! How’s your Bay…?
evening, CE — doing well, thanks. How’s everything out east tonight?
The snow is amazing! I was completely covered, like a swarm, in minutes. I took some photos, but if I post them this late MsCE will scold me for being up so late.
What Floridaze warmer than paradise? No way.
monterey bay’s not going anywhere, otherwise, just enjoying warmed up weather
I occasionally miss snow. Then I remember how cold it has to be. Brrrr.
Ohio is in a full snow whiteout, which is amazing. I spent so much time out east, just south of Philadelphia, this year that my car goes there on autopilot.
Little Wing…
*heh* One reason I value my monthly excursions up top of MK, I realize why I do so enjoy Sea Level…! ;-)
My very favorite. Thanks so much!
yikes! it’s not even april yet, the best month for Dakotas – Ohio blizzards.
I know. We spent so many trips in 2012 going back and forth to PA for all old and dying parents.
What snow? I love snow. There is just a light dusting in this southwest Cleveland suburb. Maybe we’re not part of Ohio anymore.
Not to mention no heating bills. I can count on one hand the number of days this winter I’ve had the heat on, and January is almost over. Crusin’ until May.
Hiya! We have about four inches here in Coventry.
I was in the Marine Corp back in these days, use to do some sunshine, i think that’s what they called it, anyway it was LSD and listen to Jimmy, especially Hey Joe and Purple Haze and The Wind Cries,is the one I remember, sometimes I wish I was back there.
Aloha, Loo Hoo…! What a delite to see ya tonite…!
LooHoo! Come sit by me.
Aloha, MeinOhio…! Always a pleasure to see new fonts at lln…! My eldest resides in Toledo…! ;-)
night all – be well
Aloha, joediss…! I did twenty in the Army as a Commo Chief…! ;-)
Hiyall.
We’ve had 2 small snows, enough for my plow guy to charge me. A third snow fall, too little. This winter is mild by in large.
Globally climate temps stable for a decade. Oh my.
I’m in bed typing on my phone and can’t reply directly to a post. So, Christine, you’re so lucky with the snow. It’s the only thing that makes winter bearable. We spent half a day at the Circle today, enjoying all the free activities. First time I saw the atrium at the CMA. It kind of reminds me of a sterile piazza. Would like it more, if it had solar panels. Does it?
Voodoo Chile from the Isles…! ;-)
Thanks for the welcome. I read LLN regularly, but don’t have much to say usually.
Aloha, eCAHN…! How’s the Hudson Valley tonite…?
Hard to go back once ya delurk, Mi Amigo…! Please chime in…! ;-)
Pleasant dreams, PPD…!
20-something. We’ve had one or two nights colder, but as I mentioned, mild by winter standards.
Had HUGE goose dinner party on 1/5/13, in honor of NYE. Third annual one, sched a little late bc of commitments of guests. 9 peeps stayed 7+ hours. Guess you’d call that successful, though FEMA turned down my disaster relief app when I viewed the kitchen the next morning.
How apropo… The Star Spangled Banner…
I was drafted in the Marine Corp for 2 years, back then you could be drafted in Marine Corp ,70-72, had a lottery system setup.
Where did ya go, Parris Island or Pendleton…? ;-)
Good night Saigon.
Bleeding Heart…
Time for a midwinter’s nap. Good night, stay warm.
Pleasant dreams, Me…! ;-)
A Cool Clip… Rainy Day, Dream Away…
I was in Camp Pendlenton while I was state side and went to Vietnam for a tour and come back to state side, I come back to Pendleton . for the time I had left. I was in 1st Marine Div 11th Marines. I use to go off base to Oceanside, town right off base, back then the civilians didn’t much like servicemen, if they start talking to you , more than likely they were try to con you out what money you had, anyway that the impression I got….
*heh* I’ve seen that same hostility, be it Stateside, Seoul, Okinawa, or any of our 1k+ Bases, and/or, ‘lilypads’ situated across the Globe…! 8-(
Castles Made of Sand…
Well, I shall bid you good folks another fond adieu…! Mahalo for the great company tonite…! I look forward to what Suz has on tap…!
Aloha Oe…!
It’s THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE. Why is this so difficult? Would you say here’s Dave Clark doing “Glad All Over”? It was a band, named after, but with a name different from, its leader.
