The Ventures — Wipe Out, live in Japan, 1966.
What’s on your mind?
g’evening pups — how ya’ll doing tonight?
OMG I was 14 then. And I loved this!
hey ce — how’s cleveland tonight? so glad you liked the video tonight
My Dad and my brother both had drum sets in the living room. My Dad played, of course, during the war. My brother played in a band in the late 60′s in Philadelphia, with me, sneaking into the back as the groupie set.
i love the drummer in this song.. he just forking nails it…
There is a British way, and an American way of holding drum sticks — we often commented on that as teens.
We are watching W.Kamau Bell right now.
i think this song has a lot to do with why i’ve always be partial to the drum beat…
Back to find for you…. he is a comedian. Love him.
sweet! love comedy
thanks ce… i’ll be sure to check him out
What a perfect musical accompaniment to Dippity-Do and curler duty. I forgot how rocking that song was, which is understandable since I only even heard about it through friends much older than I.
hag! don’t forget the hair tape! glad you like it :) how’s pdx tonight?
walk don’t run
Colder than a witch’s, but nice. Mt Hood has been glorious. (which I notice all the more since I’m soon leaving Park Ave. for first, facing the other way.)
i’m east facing and i do not like it. no view at all from this bungalow :(
It’s been in the 50′s and sunny up at Timberline the last few days. PDX has been laboring under a temp inversion.
In the meantime, here’s a group that’s been around for a while, combining talents as classical operatic singers with pop music. This is the best since the Moody Blues first recorded it.
Better than K.D, imo anyway.
In all my adult life, I’ve never not had a view. My old place in NW had Mt. St. Helens and bits of downtown, and the current one has, well, everything.
The new place looks south and west, so there’s the tram, south waterfront, the west hills, and the southern tip of downtown, but no more Mt Hood or sweeping skyline.
That’s okay; I don’t see that well anymore, especially late at night.
theme from come september
hey starbuck — how was your day? wow, i like that notte di luce
Anybody else get the “should Obama be impeached” poll popup in the video?
Where in Philadelphia?
i got spoiled in boulder creek being at the junction of the creek and the river and then moving to the oregon coast. i had wonderful views of netarts bay and cape lookout from my living room. there are places along the columbia river communities where there are spectacular views of mt adams, st helens, and hood but here, alas, here i look out upon a metal garage that belongs to my landlord.
hey coach — i didn’t get a popup at all from the video… how’s houston tonight?
Clear and cool.
My son texted pics of snow on the ground from school in No TX.
talked to steph tonight and she said that its freezing in florida… down in the 40′s… i told her it was 30 here. she sure got used to florida quick *laughing*
My day went well. I’m finishing the next assignment for the University of Portland and in a week, I’m back at Intel for about a year’s contract work.
Here’s a link to my photo work for the firefighter’s article. P 18
sweet! contract work for a year!!! those are great firefighter pics dood… wow
It will be interesting.
Did you listen to the same group doing Alleluia?
i did…. i liked the first one better … i’m a kd fan for hallelujah i fear…. they have wonderful voices… i’ve bookmarked them to check them out when utube surfing
BTW, Suz, one of the department’s was Scappoose RFD.
how forking kewl…. i’ve been listening to columbia county scanner online and hear their calls in addition to other fds and pd/sheriff
Then this is the one to watch. Stunning location in Barcelona. They do both songs here as well.
sweet.. thanks dood… amazing voices
I don’t think you were home the day we shot the photos.
The baritone (from Spain) is my favorite, he has a voice with hair on it!
next time — bg’s been talking about coming out to the pacific northwest and there’s been chatter about doing a meetup
heh! love that descriptor — a voice with hair
For the record Nokie Edwards is a truly great guitarist..he lived a few miles from me for several years. I got to see him a few times, and he is really something else..
sorry folks, got the nod early tonight. thank you for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
The great bassos and baritones have it. It’s the quality that says male, just as the soaring highs says female.
hey magilla — that’s way forking kewl…. sorry to be bailing as you are arriving….
Nite, Suz.Sleep well.
