Golf Brooks — Senior Moments (with lyrics).
What’s on your mind?
g’evening pups — how ya’ll doing tonight?
I can relate to that refrigerator thing…
Or sometimes I’ll just stop and think “what am I doing?”
hey loohoo — me too :) how was your day?
the ‘i know i came in here for something’ and even worse, when i give up and go sit back down, i remember what it is
i just heard beth hart tributing buddy guy on the kennedy center honors sing this song
That’s just we elders get extra exercise! It’s all part of the plan. “:)~
hadn’t heard beth hart sing since she did la song
A good day. Tomorrow I put Christmas away. I’ll probably forget what I’m doing half the time. Maybe it’s because it doesn’t really matter? When I was working, every move counted. Had to think 3 steps ahead. Now it’s kinda like, whatev.
hey dearie — how was your day? *laughing* i do tell myself that when i walk back into the kitchen to grab whatever it was i left there — usually the coffee cup… at least i’m getting some exercise
i do love that whatev attitude i’ve developed. of course, i do come from a long line of procrastinators…
chilly down here today, but lovely anyway. nice to just enjoy some quiet.
Aloha, Suz and lln pups…! I’m a very happy camper tonite…!
tis 37 here.. we got up to 41 today. weather dood said that we may even have a sun break or two tomorrow in between rain showers and the rest of the week into next week (and new years) is forecast to be dry
aloha tut — is it because it quit raining?
Hey, Dearie. How are you? Good Christmas?
Finer than frog’s hair, Suz? How you?
It’s still raining cats and dogs in Hilo town, but, dry as a bone down here in Punalu’u…! The two condos my Mom rented for us, are totally decked out, I’m gonna love the next two nites or so…! ;-)
hey pw — so good to see your fonts this late at nite….. whassup?
Hi Loo Hoo…. yes, nice time with my 4 year old grandtwins….. the perfect age to enjoy Christmas. Hope things were okay for you and yours.
Memorial on the 29th, Dearie. I had no idea my nephew was so into his Norwegian heritage. It will be at Sons of Norway.
Reminding myself not to become Old Blevins!
Hugs and strength and good memories. And then do it again in a year.
i hope to be more like the zimmers
Oh, dear! Your nephew passed away, I take it?
Where’s your nearest SON hall?
(((loohoo and family)))
Now, this is the veritable Icing on the Cake, too… It’s Schatz! Gov Names New U.S. Senator…!
such good news! i heard he was the preferred choice among progressives
There you go!
More exercise is a good thing. When I think of all times I’ve madly hunted down my current book…!
hey margot — how’s the wilds of ohio tonight?
Yes. Vista, CA. So sad. His mom (my sis-in-law) wasn’t sure she could go back to teaching her kindergartners. I suggested she go back with the sub still there for a week. Back to kindergartners will take her mind off her son.
Seems like a good move, no?
As a friend of mine(and long-time reporter) wrote on FB…
So I hear Brian Schatz has gotten the nod. I think it’s not a bad choice. It would have been fun to see an all-female state delegation, but over my years of covering island politics, I’ve been more impressed with Schatz than with Colleen Hanabusa or Mazie Hirono. He impresses me as more of an independent thinker and less of a machine politician. I’d trust him more to vote his conscience around all those big money lobbyists, although I could be wrong.
The keys. I think they walk!
Hi Suz–not very wild. Pretty snow, about 3 inches. Did your grandbaby have a good Christmas?
Wow! That’s great. I look forward to the new Senate. Now if someone can just flush the house!
fingers and toes crossed he remains that way tut
me — it always takes me two tries to leave the house. usually when i’m backout out the driveway, i remember something i forgot.
its bad when i don’t remember until i get there — like my camera when i went to jen’s christmas eve… forgot the camera for something like the 3rd time in a row
that’s 3 more inches than i got :) she had fun opening the presents but doesn’t have the christmas excitement yet. that will be next year when she is 2 going on 3…
I gave up and attached my keys to my purse handle with a curly coil cord.
If he doesn’t, we get the chance to boot him out in ’16…! ;-)
i need to do that… i’m forever losing my keys inside my purse
there is that.. but as we know, it can be hard to get one out once in.. that forking incumbency protection racket kicks in…
brrrr down to 36 now… i hope that fog outside doesn’t become freezing fog
Good idea. Just admit that it’s a lost cause and adjust!
Uh-oh…am I too late to the party again?
hey blue — how was your day?
It was a weird do-lotsa-infernally-boring-errands-that-I-can’t-do-when-I’m-in-school-because-I-don’t-have-that-much-time-to-waste kind of day. For a long time I was in hold purgatory with the airline on my landline (left ear) and and my cell phone company on my cell phone (right ear).
Periodically I would say, “Hello? Hello?” into both of them just to make sure no one had come on the line, briefly said, “How can I help you?” and then hung up on me.
For all that, I got a lot of stupid boring stuff out of the way today, so I feel a sense of acccomplishment.
P.S.: Great song tonight. Funny, but scarily true.
oh yuck — that’s a horrible kinda day dood… but it is good ya got it all done – that feeling of accomplishment is a good one. any more new reviews of your book? how are sales going (if that’s too personal of a question just ignore it please)
Nope, no more reviews yet, although there have been (including some of the more obscure blogs) 14 just one month out from publication, which is quite good — as an author friend of mine said the other day, just getting reviews — any reviews — can be a challenge in this media-saturated attention-deficit-disorder world we live in.
(For true die-hards, there’s a list of those reviews on my website’s media page: http://www.creamyandcrunchy.com/newsletter.htm?newsletter=)
I don’t actually know how many copies have sold; at this point the only way I can measure sales is by the Amazon sales ranking: it’s been as high as #9,088, which doesn’t sound good until you realize there are somewhere between six and 10 million books Amazon keeps tabs on.
Currently, it’s around 20,000, I think. And I tell people NOT to buy it on Amazon, a thuggish, monopolistic organization which is the Walmart of the publishing industry.
it really is a good book… i enjoyed it thoroughly :)
whatcha got on tap next? any ideas percolating?
Thank you so much, Suzanne :)
I just checked Amazon again, and C&C is down to # 36,000. How the mighty have fallen…
Continuing the spirit of genre-hopping that has characterized my misbegotten literary career, I want to do a political book (maybe I can even come back to the FDL Book Salon!) It will be a series of biographical profiles of people who stood up to Bush and Cheney, many of whom paid a career or life price for doing so.
whistleblowers? lota good stories to be told
I guess that’s the word, although they weren’t always whistle-blowers as such: sometimes they were people just trying to do their government job properly in accord with the law and their conscience. Depending on where they were in the bureacracy and whose way they got in, that was enough to get them into trouble.
tis time for token to save a tree. thanks for letting me hang out with ya tonight.
*peeking back in*
i like the concept blue….
Dang, Suz, I fell asleep, nice crowd tonight that I missed.
hey bg — sleep is highly overated or so i’ve been told :)
